to be worried about the drive to work tomorrow?

I have a 20 mile drive to work tomorrow, part of which is down side roads to drop the kids off at breakfast club then a major road which should be ok before hitting more side roads.

I have no annual leave left, and am expected to work a full day regardless of the road conditions and if i'm late I have to do the hours at the other end of the day, I can't work from home either.

AIBU to be dreading it?

My car is full ok to do the drive and i'm kitted out with bits to help if I get stuck but still. I'm so so nervous :(

How much snow is there around you?

Has all melted here. But a bit worried about ice in the morning.

Don't worry, take it easy and I'm sure you will be fine.

Not looking forward to it but I'll do it. Still snow here, cars off the road and the forecast is for ice overnight.

YANBU My journey to work is awful too. Country roads, breakfast club drop off, more country roads then a couple of main ones. It's usually 40 min but I think over an hour tomorrow. Bloody snow.
:( :( :(

and if the snow has gone... Bloody ice :(

We had about 6 inches or so here today and there is still a fair bit on the ground. It's the compacted Ice that i'm worried about.

Me too, just take it easy. If you're late because you have to take your time so be it. :(

Thanks kitty here's hoping for easy journeys all round for all of us tomorrow!

Take your time, don't get stressed as you will just tense up. Keep the gear low and use your gears as much as possible to slow down. Don't do anything sudden - break/accelerate.

All very easy to write but just take it easy and you will be fine.

Get up early - avoid the side roads, walk the kids in the last bit if its too icy .....

My problem's been solved for me. School has just been announced as closed so no journey for me. Getting out of our village has been a nightmare so I am relieved.
