To think DH is unreasonable to threaten divorce over Twitter

DH says that if I was tweeting famous people I fancy (as my sister does) it would be divorce! He's not entirely serious (I don't think). I must say I've been tempted, but is it really bad? Is it any worse than having various ex-girlfriends as friends on Facebook (as DH does)? It's not like I'm going to be starting a romance or running off with them. Or is it just sad?

I upset Boy George.. he was yaddering away about how his lunch was so tasty, (it was something like mung beans, raw carrot, and a stick of celery) and I replied to his tweet that it sounded rather boring.. and he needed to spice it up a bit.. sadly cant remember the exact exchange, but he wasnt happy... lol!!

My favourite reply was from Nikki Sixx who is the bass player for Motley Crue.. I tweeted to him about something about the gig of their that I had just been to, and he replied.. which meant about 30 other people started to "follow" me..

Twitter does amuse me, in that the "celebs" tweet, and very often make a complete idiot of themselves, try to delete it, but it is often too late as someone will have seen it, retweeted it, and they can never deny it...

Another thing that I find very useful with twitter is that it is the most upto date way of finding out any breaking news. If anything in the world is happening, it is on twitter now before any other new source.

Ooooh, that is a good reason to follow someone - to annoy Boy George. Very good, Squeakytoy. Am impressed.

squeakytoy · 03/02/2012 00:09

He didnt seem at all happy.. Grin

I have to say, I "follow" some people, not because I like or admire them, but simply because they really are such twats that it amuses me to see the self obsessed bullshit that they spout.

One of the best, if anyone remembers him (which actually makes it even funnier) is Steve Brookstein.. he was the original X Factor winner, and has done bugger all ever after.. but since discovering Twitter he spends his entire days bitching about Simon Cowell, X factor, and anyone who has actually made anything out of it. He is completely deranged and deluded and it really is highly amusing to read. When anyone tweets to him something that he doesnt like, or an insult, he gets so irate that you can almost see him hopping up and down in indignation!

Another one is Chanelle Hayes.. (she of the Big Brother infamy.. and then going out with Jade Goodys ex), on and off.. and on again, and off again.. she is like a twig.. yet constantly posts about how she is following a new diet... an utter fruit loop who hopes her tweets will get her some media coverage (which sadly they do, as Heat magazine seems to use Twitter as it's main source of information!)

I wonder if there has been a dumping over Twitter yet? I am sure there will be a divorce one day too.

squeakytoy · 03/02/2012 09:48

Demi Moore dumped Ashton Kutcher mainly by twitter... Grin

I told Davina McCall she slept Louboutin wrong, she said something back but I can't remember what it was..feel a little sad for the only thing that enticed me to tweet a celeb was a spelling correction.

I would be a little more concerned than you seem to be about someone talking to him on facebook who 'might' fancy him. Men generally know whether someone fancies them for a reason.

Strawberrytallcake · 03/02/2012 09:54

Ha, spelt! iPad!

bettybat · 03/02/2012 10:07

On a very everything-is-lighthearted level, you're not unreasonable at all!

But - lest I be accused of double standards - I was entirely icked out to see my BIL tweet at a female football presenter it was sad she was leaving the show because she was so fit.

It icked me out because - it's one thing to fancy TV people on a random, never meet them level. It just feels entirely different to actually be able to communicate to that person, and tell them they're fit in a kind of sleazy way.

I don't know. Maybe it's just because BIL is an entirely gross, lager-lout-football-thug type person with strong misogynistic tendencies and everything he does icks me out.

I have no idea who that Steve guy is - which would irritate him no end, I am sure.

CalmaLlamaDown · 03/02/2012 13:46

My friend's husband tweets playboy bunnies to say he likes their most recent pics etc. Cringe.

MmeLindor. · 03/02/2012 14:11

Calm
Euuuuch. That would bother me. LOTS.
