To think my daughter should be potty trained by now

She is 2 years 8 months ( not that age is important)

She tells me she has done a wee or a poo or takes her nappy off and has an accident on the floor.

I have tried everything to get her on the potty or toilet but she will not even sit on them

DS2 is same age. He knows when he's doing a wee or a poo, but if I take his nappy off he wees on the floor. I think there's a big gap between awareness of doing a wee, and knowing to choose to do it in a potty.

If she knows she's done a wee or poo then she's well on her way.

When they know they need a wee or poo is when you can really crack on.

There's a big difference between toilet 'training' (though I hate that word) and toilet 'timing'. The age that children can recognise the cues and act on them varies.
