Grin honeydragon.

when I first caught pregnancy I worked in a restaurant with 12 waitresses and by the end of the summer 7 of us were infected

"It's a stupid expression and negative too. Why not "Leaped pregnant" or "Flew pregnant"?? Both make about as much sense as Fallen!

C&P from Naoko upthread

"Yes. 'to fall' in this case simply means to go from one state (not pregnant) to another (pregnant), like in falling asleep, falling ill, falling in love, etc."

Honeydragon · 01/02/2012 23:18

Same here Grin

After contracted the pregnancy germs I spread them round my office, five of us wound up on maternity leave at the same time and it turned out that my boss was a carrier as his wife got pregnant too.

I am very careful about whom I share food with now.

Can't stand 'fell/fallen' pregnant. It always seems to be said as if the person had no input/responsibility for the situation and it 'just happened' as if they don't know how.. It always irritates me.

GirlWithPointyShoes · 02/02/2012 00:04

My Mum told her best friend that I had "fell" pregnant. I nodded, Smiled and said "Yup, I fell on DPs penis, Darn those slippers"

Thankfully Mums friend was the type of woman who shouted out "I would hate to swallow that" during a documentary about blue whales mating.

400 gallons, Yuck.
