Eammon has asked a sex addict why she doesn't make a buisness out of it as her addiction gets inthe way of her keeping a job.

Is it a case of 'what everyone was thinking' or just a very rude question?

I have learnt something plus Eamonn Holmes is a knob. Grin

rednellie · 01/02/2012 19:45

But if she really is an addict then it's irresponsible of him to suggest that. I can see the (slightly peculiar logic) behind what he said, but you wouldn't say to someone suffering from another form of addiction to just make money out of it. Surely the answer would be to ask about getting help/therapy etc.

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 01/02/2012 20:00

I guess the thing with most other addictions (alcohol, drugs, tobacco) is that they can will kill the addict eventually, or at least fuck up their life completely. With a sex addiction Hmm then, with some common sense and by practising safe sex, it won't. There is nothing to stop her carrying on like a particularly grubby rabbit for the rest of her life. In a twisted Eamonn world way, it would make sense for her to make money out of something she would be doing anyway. I haven't read any articles about her, but did she actually say she wants help/wants treatment/wants to be free of the addiction, or was it more a "quick shag me now Big Boy" publicity stunt type thing?

He really is a prize prat. I thought that was what it was going to be. Schofe is off filming the new series of the cube.

troisgarcons · 01/02/2012 20:05

Charging for sex is illegal

No it isnt! Soliciting in public (ie street walking or putting cards up in phone boxes) is illegal, running a brothel (2 or more prostitutes at one address) is illegal as is pimping woemn and taking a "commission".

The actual exchange of sex for money isnt illegal at all.

rednellie · 01/02/2012 20:05

I don't know much about her circumstances (not that interested really!), but as a general principle I'd say sex addiction is a pretty serious addiction and could have terrible consequences. It affects your health, your personal life, your ability to work etc, just as other addictions do.

Genuine sex addicts probably have quite a hard time getting the treatment they need as most people just think, ah they just want a bit more nooky than the rest of us and it's a bit titillating.

Still think Eamon is a twat though! Grin

Yes Eammon, let's send a vulnerable person into an industry that, legal or not, does not have anything close to a decent track record (or ANY track record, in fact) of caring for its employees.

Foolish, foolish Eammon, with his 'jokey' opinions that he only seems to express when interviewing women about sex-related matters. One might almost think he had an agenda.

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2012 20:49

Thank god he wasn't on when 'two vaginas' lady came in. Shock

bobbledunk · 02/02/2012 01:09

Well she's shameless enough to announce her extreme promiscuity to the world, i don't see how getting paid for what she is already proud of doing could be a bad thing. She'd get money from her favourite hobby, she'd never have to do a real job again or burden the taxpayer. Nothing to get prissy about.

JuluLu · 02/02/2012 01:41

Chinax, I don't think being Irish is anything to do with it. I think it's just a case of being an utter twat.

Sparklingbrook · 02/02/2012 11:03

He's on again today. Where has Phillip Schofield gone?

lazarusb · 03/02/2012 09:50

Sparkling He's probably at home contemplating asking for a pay rise Grin
Loves - Sorry! My mistake! Have now brushed up on the Sexual Offences Act (as you do!).

Sparklingbrook · 03/02/2012 10:40

Oh no him and his bloody wife. Angry

Sparklingbrook · 03/02/2012 10:40

Why is NatCass reviewing the bloody papers?

Sparklingbrook · 03/02/2012 10:55

She used to be a man? Shock

Whatmeworry · 03/02/2012 11:14

What is her day job? A cost / benefit analysis of per hour income is needed here :o

lovesadirtylie · 03/02/2012 11:24

Have now brushed up on the Sexual Offences Act (as you do!).
he he Grin
I think often people assume that prostitution is illegal as a kind of knee jerk reaction to their feeling that it's immoral.

(I'm not suggesting that I think it is immoral)

lazarusb · 03/02/2012 13:15

Worst thing is loves - I know that! (I'm a first year Law student Blush) but my brain was clearly not engaged as I was outraged by Holmes inspired twattery! My annoyance at him overrode common sense and any intellect I may have previously had Grin

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 03/02/2012 13:19

Eamonn, the King Of Lateral Thinking!

Hmm
TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 03/02/2012 13:20

Shit Sparklingbrook - Eamonn Holmes used to be a man?

You learn something new every day! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 03/02/2012 13:21

Grin Cuntworm. Actually looking at the pictures of the sex addict 'lady' she does indeed look like a man.

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 03/02/2012 13:37

Poor Eamonn. Or Emmeline as he used to be known.

vintagewarrior · 03/02/2012 19:52

Turns out it actually is a MAN! And I think he was right to ask that? At least I wouldn't be paying taxes it can shag all & sundry all day, apparently hot 20 something's.... which I don't have the time or energy for as I GO TO WORK 60 HOURS PER WEEK!
