To be unfeasibly annoyed about the sudden ubiquity of the word 'onesie'?

It's one of those 'Americanisation of language' things. Didn't it use to be called a babygro, or, if adults wear them (shudder), an all-in-one? When did it suddenly change to being called a onesie? And why wasn't I consulted?!

Ok some confusion here I think. In the uk a onesie is an all in one on suit like a babies sleepsuit either with or without feet. In the us a onesie is what we know as a best with the popper crotch and the envelope style neck. What we know as a onesie they call a sleeper or sleepsuit. Romper suits are all in one top and bottom withe either short sleeves and legs or long sleeves and legs, but no feet.
Just to clarify, and yes I know I'm really really sad knowing this stuff

FYI my 'onesie' is certainly not from primark...it's bespoke!
