To be slightly irked that nursery menu is very different to reality

At my DD's nursery they provide a 8 week menu, in advance, setting out what they will be having for lunch and snack. I 100% appreciate that there will be some differences to the advance menu provided but over the past 5 weeks (she goes 3 times a week) only 1 meal has been the same as 'advertised'. I have made sure I have the right menu.

AIBU to be little annoyed about this? I just find it irritating that I make her meals and then get her from nursery and find out she has had something similar that day for lunch.

WipsG I tend to prep the night before or take out the freezer night before.

I don't think the food is different in quality. For example, they aren't saying chicken and veggie cous cous and then giving her spam fritters and chips. Just less variety I think.

The main thing, if you are unhappy with nursery food,is to ask your nursery whether they have had their menus and food policy checked against the latest School Food Trust guidelines, issued last month. They and you can then be confident that you child is getting the best nutrition at such an important stage in their lives. These reviews can be undertaken by a company called MenuMatters- www.menumatters.co.uk

pleasethanks I would just casually mention to the nursery that it seems a waste of resources providing parents with menus when they are not correct.

Also, if you are picking her up at 5pm, is she not having tea at nursery as well? I pick DD up from nursery around 5pm and she has had her tea at 4pm so don't need to worry about feeding her other than a quick snack when we get in.

YADNBU - why would they bother giving out menus if they didn't follow them?

(I'd call and have a chat about it - you won't come across as a psycho, I promise)

I pick her up about 430, but by time we get home it is 5. She has a snack at 330. But to be honest, I like giving her her dinner.

Anyway, yes, glad to see some peeps are getting it. Its not about what she is eating really, it is more the principle. Why give them out if you aren't following them. Just confusing for everyone! I think I will mention it next week and bring it up by asking the manager whether I have the right menu as my DD's meals seem to be different.
