So today i went to see my 6 yr old niece as she has been poorly and was in hospital for a week then Derion house for a week, just got in and DH told me he has streamed the movie to his PC and bought me wine so we can watch it a home Sad i feel put out was looking forward to our date

Perhaps he thought he was making it more cosy?

thepeoplesprincess · 29/01/2012 18:24

Why are you telling a bunch of complete s;trangers instead of him?

EllenandBump · 29/01/2012 18:29

He probably just wanted to do something nice for you and assumed (wrongly but good heartedly) that you probably wouldnt feel like going out. Wish all men at least done something nice, wish my ex would have done something like that for me from time to time.

mojitomania · 29/01/2012 18:30

He's not really got it has he. Mind you, how sweet really. Just arrange to meet him somewhere next time. That's always a rather exciting one.

WMDinthekitchen · 29/01/2012 19:55

Try this, 'Mr Mopbucket, I was really looking forward to going out tonight - we can watch streamed films any time. I just want to go on a date with you. And we can come back for coffee and an early night.' Simples

EllenandBump · 29/01/2012 21:40

Just drop it into conversation... i was really looking forward to going to the cinema for a change, we hardly ever have any dates any more. But it was so thoughtful of you to do this for me. Be nice, he has at least tried...... more than some!

ImperialBlether · 29/01/2012 21:43

Just say, "Ohh going on a date always makes me want sex. I think about it non-stop through the date and can't wait to get home. Still, it'll be nice to see the film, anyway."

EllenandBump · 29/01/2012 22:11

Excellent. truly genius IMPERIALBELTHER! How did i not think of that, put the temptation there and wait for hubby dearest to follow the path to getting what he wants!!

Sorry, I feel I have to say something here. thepeoplesprincess this place is great for sharing absolutely anything and I for one expand my mind on just about every thread (unless it's a nobdie thread!) and I'm grateful that people will take the time out to share their concerns and ask for advice, whether or not I can personally give any. I've had a drink so I'll end it there, although I really want to be more bitchy towards you.

OP, what your OH did sounds lovely to me, although if you really wanted a night out for a dinner/dance, whatever it's called these days you can surely drop it into a conversation at a future date without remarking on how you expected it this time around.

Sometimes a night in with some pizza or popcorn or whatever junk food you like is heavenly... in fact most of the time it is :) And a lot cheaper! Your OH sounds lovely for organising it (I admit he could be taking the lazy way out but I don't know him or his habits) Maybe you could organise it next time? :)
