It's money for old rope. What are you supposed to do with it?

somedayma · 29/01/2012 16:39

You can get it for less than £25

Spray it on your baby? Or spray it on your baby's things? Idk. If you really wanted to 'scent' your baby you could do it for a lot cheaper!

I think it looks nice and can imagine buying it as a present for a new mum.

somedayma · 29/01/2012 16:45

but babies already smell nice! Mostly

I love perfume and used to have lots of different ones. When my daughter was born I stopped changing and used just one. It worked as I hoped and she associated that one smell with mummy (still does at 18). Great for squirting on teddys and pillows for added comfort.

I guess that's what people are aiming for with a product like this. So yes, I think you are being unreasonable.

catgirl1976 · 29/01/2012 16:51

but the smell of my baby is incredible. when i got him home from hospital i was greedy for the smell of him..........i wouldn't want to mask it :(

i get the association thing, but no i wouldn't buy it

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/01/2012 16:56

DD is one and I still take huge breaths smell her sometimes. If it's for putting on teddies to help sleep. If it's for making babies smell "special" then no thanks.

IUseTooMuchKitchenRoll · 29/01/2012 16:58

When I had ds2 I was given some of that Burberry baby touch perfume. I just used to spay it in the room to make it smell nice.

wherearemysocks · 29/01/2012 17:01

I think it looks like a nice gift, especially for 2nd/3rd etc when they already have everything they need.

Don't think you are supposed to spray it on baby though, isn't it for their bedclothes to help them sleep?

somedayma · 29/01/2012 17:07

I thought it was for the baby's hair etc. I believe you can get hello kitty baby perfume which is for the actual baby, but maybe this stuff is more like a linen spray

I couldn't bring myself to spend that though. I'd rather make it myself and write out a pretty label with instructions, so it looked like something from Lush or similar. Home crafty stuff is back in fashion, and it would cost less than a fiver.

You could get lavender oil for a tenth of the price, YANBU.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/01/2012 20:49

Lavender makes me physically sick, since I used some on my pillow when I was pg with DC1 and it co-incided with the start of morning sickness.
I used to love lavender, but can't abide it even now 12 years on.

I have to hold my breath if I walk past a shrub of it.
I ceratainly wouldn't make my DCs lavender scented Grin Envy -my face

somedayma · 29/01/2012 22:17

I'm the same with coconut. shudder. Regurgitated Malibu 10 years ago, retch at anything coconut scented now
