So school appointment 1st thing which meant I was late into work (agreed in advance). Arrived to an email asking for a strategy presentation (by3.00pm) need to leave early (agreed in advance) to take DS to physio. Home to pack for 2 business days in London on a 6am train. No time for lunch. Multitasking and typing this as I have a wee.

So AIBU in wondering why the hell I put myself through this and seriously considering emigrating to somewhere warm and opening a cafe?

YANBU but I don't think you need to emigrate to find a different job.

I sympathise, my days look very similar :( for example (typical day):

Get up at 6am, quick shower and get dressed, wake DD up at 6.30 (usually have to shout at DH to get up too), give DD breakfast while I finish getting ready, get her washed and dressed (usually put a load in the machine on a timer, run hoover round and generally tidy as I go) and drop to CM at 7.30am, walk to the station (about half a mile) to catch the train then tube into west end, usually arrive at work just before 9am.

Day is spent creating presentations, rushing between meetings, making sure video conferences and web based meetings run smoothly, field recruitment calls, set up meetings, filing, creating org changes etc etc etc, lunch is eaten at my desk whilst typing one handed.

I leave work at 5.30pm, get home at 7pm (luckily DH gets in by 6pm so collects DD) I then hang out washing, bath DD, make sure she's eaten, DH or I will start dinner for ourselves, general house stuff like dusting living room, wiping over sofa (bloody cream leather!), wiping over the bathroom is done whilst cooking dinner and trying to entertain/interact with DD all at once. *-8.30pm DD goes to bed so I get her ready and read her a story then can eat my dinner.

Washing up, any more household stuff or form filling (endless bloody forms come out of DD's preschool) then try to do 30 minutes on exercise bike (dont manage every night) while watching whatever shite is on TV, then I will shower and fall exhausted into bed between 10.30pm and 11pm.

I dream of winning the lottery and hiring a maid on a regular basis Grin
