Who's right - me or DP? (Lighthearted)

So there we were at the dinner table, all over our healthy eating with bowls of fresh salad to go with our meal. One bowl - cucumber, olives, tomatoes. The other - rocket salad and spinach leaves. (See, :o healthy eating)

Half way through, I take the last few leaves of rocket and spinach.

DP "you took the last of the salad"

Me "there's more in the fridge if you want some"

DP "you emptied the bowl, therefore you replenish, mealtime etiquette"

Me "fuck off, the fridge is 3 foot away, if you want more go get it"

So.. was it my place to replenish? Or should the one who wants more, gets it themselves?

(He did eventually go get it :o so technically, I win!)

You must have been to some pretty boring dinnerparties is all I can say BF Wink

pennypencil · 21/01/2012 22:48

ooh bogey I bet he's trying to get you to have dinner parties all the time Grin

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 21/01/2012 22:50

All that detail - I thought you were going to ask which salad bowl was healthier Grin

You are right - he was wrong.

Bogeyface · 21/01/2012 22:50

Oh fuck.

I have tried to say what I mean several times and the words dont come out right :o

I dont do it everytime! In fact, almost never these days, but I have NEVER done it for a dinner guest!.......Actually......thats not entirely true but is totally irrelevant to this discussion Blush

minimisschief · 21/01/2012 22:52

I'm interested in whether the same argument can be used for toilet seats.

If you want it down move it down when you go. Why should i(men) lift it up then down again?

Just curious Grin

Bogeyface · 21/01/2012 22:54

Its called a lid for a reason! You put the lid down whether you are boy or a girl, or is that just me insisting on that?!

AgentZigzag · 21/01/2012 22:55

Tell us more about the time you never did it for a dinner guest...

psketti · 21/01/2012 22:56

I'm thrilled by you arguing over spinach leaves! Crisps or chocolates I could understand.. Are you on a spartan diet? Have you been on Slimming World a while? I only ask cos me and dh have just started and I need to know what's down the line.

TongueTwisted · 21/01/2012 22:56

Bathroom etiquette is totally different to getting more food.

A toilet seat is designed to be sat on. So that means any man that leaves it up is wrong.

minimisschief I hope that clarifies it for you :o

Putting the loo seat down is just hygeinic, you're not supposed to keep your toothbrushes near the loo because of the airborne particles that come out with the flush.

TongueTwisted · 21/01/2012 23:00

psketti Sorry, just a new healthy eating regime no SW. What's a spartan diet? Will DP get the body of a spartan by the end?

I shall not give details other than to say it was after my ex and I had officially split but were still playing the happy couple for various reasons. We had guests, he went out for a late drink with some, 2 more went home and I had a bit of supper with the remaining chap. Was quite fun now I think back :o

pennypencil · 21/01/2012 23:06

bogey what interesting dinner parties you have Smile

I have never made the dinner party/ blowjob association before. Do you serve up sausages for the main course to warm up

TongueTwisted · 21/01/2012 23:06

BogeyFace , I'm sure some of DP's single friends would love you to come over for a dinner party one evening Wink

Yep he should be the one to get more. In the salad sense of more, maybe not bogeys version of more... Grin

And yes, everyone should put the lid down before they flush to keep those nasty germies in. Am training ds to do so. Dh sadly is a lost cause on this.

Spuddybean · 21/01/2012 23:44

YABU i would never finish anything off without asking if the other person wanted more. I would have split it or replenished it.

Also as regards to the loo roll. We don't have a rule to get a new one out when one is finished. The next person who needs it gets it. Also if dp uses the loo the seat is left up, if i use it, it's left down. The lid only goes down to rest my drink in when i'm in the bath! Grin

ProfessorFiggyMoriarty · 21/01/2012 23:47

I always eat the last of the salad, I have to force it into dh so I am therefore doing him a favour.

I am weird though as I quite often a bag of salad in the same vein as a packet of crisps. (I do still eat crisps too though!)

Ginlord · 21/01/2012 23:48

punch him the penis next time.
