YABU. Apple crumble and custard is better.

My mum in the 60s thought she was very avantgarde serving jelly set with fruit...strawberry jelly with banana, orange jelly with mandarin oranges and occasionally rasberry jelly with tinned raspberries.
Other faves were Instant Whip, Strawberry and gooseberry pie (amazing combination) and tinned ffuit cocktail and evap.p

Not my all time fave, but in terms of simple puddings, you can't beat jelly and icecream. Esp with fruit cocktail set into the jelly.

Banana custard beats it IMO
