Oh ok it isn't. Grin

But oh, oh, oh the joy!

For FOUR years I have suffered with shit Vax dustless bastard thing. It just pushed the dust around the floor and gave dh and I wheezy chests on emptying it.

Now dd3 has gone to school we splashed out and bought this miele. It's pretty, it's light, it has a full set of crevice tools and three floor heads, it has a BAG, it sucks like nobody's business and my house is clean.

Plus I haven't had to have stitches or anybody's hand ferreting in my nether regions. So aibu to be beside myself with joy?

I want to take a picture in to work and dh can't stop talking about it..........

Grin great colour. We had a miele, until it broke down just outside of it's 2 year guarantee. Then we worked out it would be cheaper to buy a 40 euros Aldi vacuum cleaner, even if it does need replacing every year.

Currently have an AEG Jetmaxx which came top of tests in Belgium, it works very well.

Kayano · 17/01/2012 08:13

I felt the same about my washing machine :D

Northernlurker · 17/01/2012 08:14

We can extend the guarantee for £30. We're thinking about that, along with private school and a complete set of Mamas and Papas bedromm furniture and a bumbo

It's living in the dining room at the moment because I think the garage is too cold.

I've got a new ironing board arriving later this week, and am unreasonably excited about that Grin.

Northernlurker · 17/01/2012 08:22

My work colleagues think I'm certifiable. It was delivered yesterday so I came home at lunchtime to retrieve it from the neighbours then I talked about it all afternoon and was even caught singing a happy hoover song. 'Oh I've got a little hoover and it's very, very fine. Hooooooooooooooooooover...........'

'Vacuum cleaner' won't rhyme you see.

I also insisted on using a number of hoover related puns - 'this totally sucks', 'lets not brush it under the carpet', 'I don't think that's too dusty....'

NorthernLurker you suckerWink

Whatmeworry · 17/01/2012 08:55

You'll get hoover it....

SmilingandWaving · 17/01/2012 09:50

Came across this after following your link & having a look around.

Take a look at the first review, I bet his wife wasn't half as excited as you are Grin

randommoment · 17/01/2012 09:52

I'm in love with Henry. But the new kettle, that boils really fast and doesn't mysteriously turn itself on and off is creeping into my affections too.

Sidge · 17/01/2012 09:54

YAsooooooooooooooooooNBU

I love to vacuum. There's nothing as satisfying as hearing all the bits rattle up the vacuum tube and leaving a lovely clear floor.

I love my vacuum cleaners far more than any woman should love a domestic appliance.

(I have 3 vacs - one for the carpeted upstairs, my Miele cylinder for the hard floors downstairs and my crappy old Argos value bagless upright for cleaning out the hearth!)

jeee · 17/01/2012 09:56

The delivery of my miele washing machine was undoubtedly a highlight of my life. Four years on I still stroke it lovingly every time I walk past it.

Bluebell99 · 17/01/2012 09:57

I can't believe that on that link to John Lewis 31 people have taken the time to review a hoover BAG!!!!! And £9.99 for 4 hoover bags seems alot imho. How long do they last btw? I could do with a new hoover though, and would it make me as happy as you?!

CheshireDing · 17/01/2012 10:06

3 hoovers Sidge?? Grin

OP I am on the fence....

YABU - Because when you were 21 you never thought you would get this excited over a domestic appliance

YANBU - Because I love to have a clean house too, just wish I had someone to come and do it for my everyday. That would be LOVELY.

We bought a Dyson last year, so far I am not sure how I feel about it Hmm

I do, however, know how I feel about M&P furniture :(

DeWe · 17/01/2012 10:09

Well my sister thought that getting a washing machine (their first one-no more hand washing!) was more exciting than her little sister being born. (me) However she was 3yo. Make of that what you want to. Grin

Kveta · 17/01/2012 10:41

DH is more excited about my new laptop than he is about the arrival of DC2 in June. And he was WAY more excited about getting a PS3 than he was about DS arriving 2 years ago! So he would say YADNBU :o

Northernlurker · 17/01/2012 10:48

Oh Smiling - that poor woman. What a surprise eh?

Yes a new hoover will make you happy Bluebell. I don't know how long the bags last - so far so good Grin

Dh hoovered under the sofa cushions yesterday - it was epic!

If I could afford a new vaccuum cleaner I'd be more excited than I was during my second pregnancy. But then it is the fault of the little buggers DDs that the current vaccuum can't cope with the amount of detritus in our carpets. I've given up bothering, as it's quicker to get on my hands and knees and scrape up the crap manually.

R2PeePoo · 17/01/2012 11:31

I love my Miele hoover. It was my Christmas present from DH last year - he didn't want to buy me a hoover as my present but I was very persistent.

Given that he works long hours and is away a lot I do most of the housework and the Miele is worth its weight in gold. I can do the kid's floors and the lounge rug in minutes as I only have to run it over the spot once, rather than three or four times.

DH is not allowed to use it - he has to use the Tesco one that he said was 'perfectly suitable, I don;t know why you need another one'

The bags are cheaper on Amazon. I bought 20 for £20 which included all the filters etc. They last between one and three months each, depending on how many crumb scattering toddlers you have.
