To keep ALL my DDs baby teeth?

Aw DD 6 has just had her first baby tooth come out. I have kept it ( in tissue and in an envelope) and now I am thinking, do I really want to keep them all as they fall out?
Isn't the first one the most memorable?
What do you do?

It is the SLIPPERY SLOPE TO HELL. Bin the tooth, and do it now.

I have 4 DCs, and most of their teeth, which are stuffed into some hideous "jewellery cabinet" the IL's gave me and which is now known as the Freaky Tooth Chest. Keep the tooth more than a week and you will be stuck with it forever and before you know where you are you will have your own Freaky Tooth Chest and no way of getting rid of it. I'm scared to open my FTC now - everytime I do a shitload of embarrassingly-decayed enamel stares back at me.

My mum has all mine. Baby teeth make me feel ill Blush

I have all the teeth from my three AND all three positive PG Tests. And the cord clips.

DS1's PG test was a blue one (Clearblue, I think) and the DDs' tests were both a pink brand.......spooky!

we have some, others have got lost in the bed or gone up the hoover! i found a positive preg test recently i think it was one from dd, but it could have been ds4 Blush it went in the bin.

we do however have their belly button clips complete with attached bit of dried cord stump! they are sealed in freezer bags and in their baby books, at least they are for the first two boys, ds4 and dd are sat in the kitchen windowsill! and i am not sure where ds3's is, but it will be around somewhere Grin

WTAF? Why?

Do you freaks keep all their discarded body parts? Hair from every hair cut? Toe nail clippings? Chicken pox scabs?

What about poo, wee and snot? They were once part of your child. Best keep it for sentimental reasons! The belly button clips are just gross.

marriedinwhite · 17/01/2012 08:18

I don't think we were even offered the belly button clips - perhaps the m/w took a look at us and knew the answer.

Bucharest · 17/01/2012 08:18

What Mardy said. The teeth that didn't drop down the plughole went down the loo.

And I didn't even see the cord thingy. Nor did I desire to.

I once slept with a bloke who kept all his used condoms on a shelf in his bedroom.

4madboys · 17/01/2012 09:25

i have some hair from their first hair cuts. and it wasnt a case of being offered the belly button clip, it just drops off a few days/week after birth, came off at a nappy change and we just kept them. not because its a part of them, just because its interesting.

Ds didn't lose his first tooth till he was eight, by which time he had outgrown the notion of the tooth fairy.

But he did still like the idea of the money, so he's kept all his teeth in the hope that he'll get a lump sum for a full set. Poor misguided fool Smile.

Quote from William Morris: ?Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.?

Now, I'm not exactly living in a minimalist palace, but when I do declutter I try to use these criteria. Discarded teeth are not useful, and I defy anyone to argue that they are beautiful.

coraltoes · 17/01/2012 09:46

After the fucking nightmare I am having with teething, I am keeping all of them when they fall out, and wearing them around my head like a loon.
