randycourtneytripproth.blogspot.com/

I've been following it for a while and have to confess to a little cry when I read the last post this morning.

Just gave my little DD an extra big hug Sad.

I can remember watching a C4 documentary about a boy called Johnny (think that was his name) it won an award - absolutely heartbreaking to watch and he had suffered for years with EB.

It makes you feel very lucky to have healthy children :(

I'm glad I read it because they're an inspiring family but I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. It's just so unfair.

I will definitely be donating once payday is here. For the meantime I think I need a hug from my dd.

RIP to a beautiful boy and my thoughts go out to his family x

It is one of the most truley awful conditions that I can imagine. I think its the whole not being able to cuddle them because will blister and having to pop and dress blisters and the pain that causes them.

I am the least sentimental person I know, but I have tears and snot.
I am aware of DEBRA, they have a charity shop in our local shopping centre.
I've got some old books and clothes needing homes.........................

giraffesCantDonateBoneMarrow · 17/01/2012 07:10

I can't listen to "don't stop me now" anymore because it was the song Johnny had at his funeral and it really upsets me, I can switch off from a lot of things at work but this illness is really something that "gets me".

petitepeach · 17/01/2012 11:11

Poor little mite, and poor family.... They seem really lovely people, certainly puts everything in perspective....

suburbophobe · 17/01/2012 11:40

Oh that is so sad.....heartbreaking.

Birnamwood · 17/01/2012 11:51

Oh god, I've just had a massive slap from reality.
Ds2 5 mths has been teething/moany/not sleeping and I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself but reading about that brave little boy has put everything into perspective.

Rip Tripp x

Im sitting here with tears just rolling down my face-that poor poor little boy.

We had some bad news yesterday about DS2 who is 14 months (and who also adores Elmo!) in that he's got to have an operation to correct a congenital heart defect which until yesterday we didn't even know he had. So I spent all last night in hysterics because of what he's got to have done...think I need to count my blessings as do all of us x

Well, I'm going to do the Great North Run in aid of DEBRA. Having never run anywhere ever. Anyone joining me?

I wish I could, but bloody hell - good for you! Hope you get some MN fellow runners Smile

Janoschi · 17/01/2012 15:33

To run behind me with a big stick? Might need that, yes.

Just wanted to add from an old post that I've signed up now with DEBRA to do the Great North Run. Having never run anywhere ever.

It would be amazing if Mumsnetters got my donation page rolling. I'll forward the link once I get the official blurb through.

Ran 500 yards today to the cornershop and nearly collapsed. This is going to be a bit challenging for me!
