Was my mum BU to my sister??

So my sister is exhausted after moving to a new flat, she needs curtains.
My sister was hoping to get patterned pair for around £40-£50. She has seen some she liked for over 100, I said several times that I could pay the price as a welcoming present.

I'm saving for a new car so I have the money. ( which I'm hoping to order next month)

My mum who has put alot of work in finding what she likes in the price range ( which has been very difficult) was told that my mums choices were ok. However my sister wanted the pair about 100, my mum got upset that my sister would not accept the help I could give.

Ok, who's in the wrong ????

So your mum would buy curtains for £50?

Yours - which your sister prefers - are £100?

Someone, possibly both mum and sister, think it's too much for you to spend.

Get the curtains your sister likes and you and your mum pay half each. One curtain each.

So, your sister wants curtains she can't afford, you offered to pay for them. Your mum, in the meantime has found some your sister can afford, so your sister doesn't want to accept your gift. You are all getting in a fuss about it, probably with lots of different messages going backwards and you getting all worked up about something that doesn't matter.

Tell your sister she should get the curtains she wants, you will pay her back if she wants the expensive ones. you're not offended if she decides to buy the cheaper ones, and you'll get her something else as a housewarming gift.

Be honest, have you been a bit hard work and naggy about the curtains? have you got yourself all wound up about whether or not your buying these curtains and got all flappy? Stand back, this is not something you should be in any way involved in.

Tough times ?!?!

Curtains are nothing, wait until its flooring, tiling, towels, lighting. You all might as well ignore each other for a few years if it's tough times over curtains.
