Too scared to buy buggy.

This is going to sound really silly- but I'm too scared to purchase a new buggy for my triplets, just incase anything happens. I'm due to have them next month and don't want to buy one and have it at home. If we returned from the hospital without them all and the buggy was there it would really upset me.
Due to the fact I'm having three we need to order one from abroad and have it shipped over. My dh says we won't be able to take them out for fresh air etc without it. What would you do?

I'd see if I could borrow a double and a single / sling or I'd have a triple buggy delivered elsewhere.

I can understand how you're feeling but good luck.

MudAndGlitter · 10/01/2012 19:10

Order it and store it at a friends or my mums until I brought the babies home.
Congrats btw Grin

Fisharefriendsnotmincepies · 10/01/2012 19:11

Could you order it to be delivered to a sister/brother/mother/friend?

Then you not looking at it, but it will be there when you need it?

Best of luck Smile

MissBetsyTrotwood · 10/01/2012 19:11

If it makes you less nervous, could you order it and have it sent to a friend/family member?

MissBetsyTrotwood · 10/01/2012 19:12

Yes, and congratulations!

CailinDana · 10/01/2012 19:14

I totally understand your reservations. How long does delivery take? As long as you have car seats you should be able to manage for at least a week without a buggy - chances are you'll be so busy getting yourself sorted you won't have time to go for big jaunts. Besides they'll be so little at that stage that if you do want to go out for some air you'll be able to carry them, or have one in a sling and one in arms while the other is carried by DH.

Good luck :)

i would def order it and have it at a friends/familys house.

or borrow a double and a sling?

i saw a lovely triple baby jogger on ebay the other day...

minceorotherwise · 10/01/2012 19:17

So understand!!! Can you borrow double buggy plus sling ? If you're in London I can lend a phil and teds? You will manage for the first few weeks if you want to wait to order

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 10/01/2012 19:18

Agree with everyone else, ask a family member or friend if you can get it delivered to their house.

Congratulations and good luck! Thanks

thisisyesterday · 10/01/2012 19:18

ouch at the price though!

Tooblunt2012 · 10/01/2012 19:19

Congratulations! I do understand why you'd feel that way. Agree with getting it delivered elsewhere. If you really dont want to order in advance, do you have friends you can borrow a single/double pushchair & baby carrier(s) which could tide you over until you order your own? That way you & DP could push 1 or 2 whilst carrying the other (depending on what people have available to lend).

thisisyesterday · 10/01/2012 19:21

bargain ABC buggy

Northernlurker · 10/01/2012 19:22

If you know anybody with a biggish traditional pram you could manage with that tbh till yours came. Definately could if you have a sling too. I think dh is right to be positive but I understand your worry.

kentDee · 10/01/2012 19:30

Thanks for all your replies and advice. X

Don't order one, you can easy borrow a single and a twin buggy initially, just means you can't go out on your own initially (although double and sling would work) but you aren't going to be going out on your own anyway anyway.

Once they are born and all looks ok then order the buggy.

iFailedTheTuringTest · 10/01/2012 19:50

Totally agree, and tbh with tiny newborns you should be able to manage for a few weeks with a sling and a borrowed pram. My travel system pram would have easily fitted 2 little uns.

earlyriser · 10/01/2012 20:03

Congratulations. I'm loving the idea of a big old silver cross pram with three snuggly newborns in it Smile

TroublesomeEx · 10/01/2012 20:28

earlyriser I wish you all the best for you, your DH and 3 little bundles! I cannot think of anything sweeter than looking at three snuggly newborns all squished up together in a silver cross. t'would be lovely.

GreenPetal94 · 10/01/2012 20:57

Order one once they are born if that makes you feel happier. Triplets tend to be small at birth and practically you are not going to be taking them out from day one.

I bought my double buggy after the birth of my second son. That was because he was early but it worked out just fine.

earlyriser · 11/01/2012 11:05

It's not me having triplets FolkGirl ! I'm well and truly past the newborn stage, someone upthread mentioned putting them all in a big pram and it just put a lovely image in my head Grin

TroublesomeEx · 11/01/2012 11:09

Blush Oh sorry earlyriser!!

Must have been a particularly large glass of wine Blush

Hecubasdaughter · 11/01/2012 12:14

I understand how you feel, I had mine stored in my mum's garage for a couple of weeks.

People have made good suggestions on here. Good luck with your new arrivals.

The thought of 3 little babies in a big pram is making me broody too.
