AIBU to make DC clean the loo?

DSS1 aged 15 ad DSS2 aged 10 are toilet trained, I am fairly sure (I did potty training with DSS2). However they regularly pee all over the toilet seat, resulting in a wet bum for me and untold rage.

AIBU to make them clean their own pee from the seat cistern, floor and wall.
Dp thinks I am and that I 'don't understand how difficult it is to hit the target'. They have equipment to point with so I think this is bollocks to shut me up.

NB Both live with me and I help raise them so consider that it is my duty to nag them into functioning human beings before they have to share a house with some other poor sod. Requests to lift the seat up are met in the same way as requests to not put the empty milk carton back in the fridge or leave dirty pots in their room - denied.

Tell them if they don't clean up their wee , then you will clean it up using their toothbrush.

That should sort them out !

Joking aside , 3 -5 males in this house at any time , I feel your pain .

I leave a packet of Dettol wipes by all the toilets....
Dh and ds have been away for nearly 3 weeks and I have never had such clean toilets. I may dig them a hole at the bottom of the garden for them to use in future.

DD manages to get shit everywhere.....she gets handed a wodge of loo roll and a spray bottle.

BandOMothers · 09/01/2012 12:24

YANBU it is NOT hard to aim right and if they miss then why can't they get a bit of loo roll and mop it up?? Not showing off but my DH has never once left a sprinkle on the seat and he always puts it down.

lottiegb · 09/01/2012 12:59

Don't they help with cleaning anyway, esp. the 15-year old? Can't toilets become one of their jobs?

The idea of a wet toilet seat is utterly repellant. I don't see how your DP could think this is the slightest bit acceptable. Being able to aim or not has nothing to do with ability to lift (and replace) the toilet seat.

Areallytiredwoman · 09/01/2012 17:32

I should probably point out that DP can indeed use the loo without sprinkling, it would be unfair to continue to let everyone think otherwise Grin

They are normally fab boys who regularly help with the housework and DD four months with whom they are besotted so are forgiven just about anything its just this pee issue. DP is now with me and thinks they should revisit their toilet training since he sat on a wet seat now we have discussed the issue like sensible adults

If you figure this one out can you tell me so I can sort out DH!!

OffDownTheGardenToEatWorms · 09/01/2012 19:18

I love that your DP had wet seat treatment and is now on board Grin

Update - ultimate revenge last night when DD 4 months did a poo in the bath with Daddy and as she is EBF her bowel movements are rather fluid. Oh how I laughed Grin

I'm sure she winked at me, I'll give him 'difficult to aim'. I knew another female in the house could only be an ally
