Because my husband thinks I am.

She is prone to bad dreams and letting things play on her mind and I remember WD being a bit bloody...

fwiw the only film that has ever upset dd1 is disneys snow white! she wasn't scared by the witch but was extremely worried for snow white, she had to sit on my lap during the apple scene!

Noooo!!!!!! Don't let her watch it!! It is the most frightening film experience of my whole life.

I saw that when I was around her age and was so terrified I had nightmares about evil rabbits under the bed and wouldn't go to sleep on my own for about 3 months according to my parents. They had just thought it was a nice cartoon about bunnies but I can still remember vividly how frightening I found some of the images. Ive spoken in the past to friends of the same age and it seems a number of us watched it at the same time - a whole generation were traumatised.

Definitely not! I remember watching it at primary school and found it very scary.

Has anyone seen The Watcher in the Woods? It's a Disney film and a PG, FFS, but by God it is terrifying. Just reading the list of horror in the parents' guide has just given me the heebiejeebies.

I think there may have been a rogue certificator (surely that's a word) working in the late 70s/early 80s, or maybe kids were just tougher then Confused

Ive seen watcher in the woods.. scary film and gave nightmare for months when I was a kid. ive seen it more recently and it still gave me the shivers. had to watch it on youtube though as its extremely rare.

Popbiscuit · 09/01/2012 23:13

Dita! Watcher in the Woods! I had vague, deliciously scary memories of it so bought a copy for my DCs. Luckily I screened it first; it is properly terrifying...not in a good way. Watch the alternate endings too. 10 x worse.

sheepgomeep · 09/01/2012 23:17

where did you get your copy from popbiscuit? Cant seem to find it anywhere.

There are alternative endings Shock and [shiver]

Oh sorry... I bet my DVD is a different region (North America). Possibly they are on YouTube? I would tell you what transpires but I don't want to spoil it for you Grin.

sheepgomeep · 09/01/2012 23:25

I will have a look for the alternative endings on you tube although possibly not tonight, freaked out enough all ready with what hapened last night.

DitaVonCheese · 09/01/2012 23:34

I think we had it on video (possibly Betamax!) in ye olden days. My grandparents used to live in the south of France and we would visit them on holiday and had to watch their very limited collection of videos while the adults slept siestaed of an afternoon, so watching TWitW was an annual tradition, along with Police Academy 6 and The Goodies & the Beanstalk.

My oldest schoolfriend brought it up recently - she came on holiday with us when we were about 15 so got to see it and told me a couple of weeks ago that she was still traumatised Grin

Alternative endings! Can't do it now, maybe tomorrow when DH is still up

DitaVonCheese · 09/01/2012 23:34

But seriously - PG?! WTAF?

DitaVonCheese · 10/01/2012 08:48
