To have just baked a tea towel?

I've just opened the oven where I was heating up some par-bake ciabatta rolls to find I've roasted a tea towel. There's smoke everywhere. It stinks in there. DP's not realised yet but I know he's going to be all "how on earth did you manage that - stupid arse" and I can't think of anything clever to say to excuse it.

So AIBU to bake a tea towel?

I mislaid a glass of wine the other night.
Found it in the cupboard the next day.
it was still good

Well he obviously realised it was a cooking technique, it just goes to show what a great chef you are vivi

Wow, Mrs Specialist Chef in the house! I'm annoyed that I've not had the creativity to do that. Thus far I've only burnt mine against our grill to scorch it! Serve it up girl!

I once toasted a potholder under the grill. I'd left the bread on the worksurface.

I once nearly set light to a dinner guest ! Just leant across table and calmly threw burning candle that looked as if if was burning back of his head out of window and carried on.
