The Twins start nursery in under 2 hours...... I was sure written on calender that it wasnt for another 2 weeks......

I am all jitterey now it has been me and my boys for 3 years!!! DD's back at school now as well - my babies are all grown up.

I am currentley praying to the kids are happy at drop off nursery gods that they will bounce in and have a whale of a time while i sit in the 'parents' room rocking for 2 1/2 hours ( secretley hoping there will be my new bff amongst the other mums in there).

Any tips to help me through ?? wine is already chilling in the fridge for later

Awww poor you, mine went to nursery younger than that (job/childcare) and I did snotty sobbing each time.

Wine, chocolate (and fags if appropriate) and don't worry about having a wobble, most parents do, I have friends who are nursery nurses and they see it all the time (and have done it themselves)

you have done this before you can do it again Smile however i think its a wee bit different with youngest children and you have 2 babies have a bit of a wobble its natural and im sure there is mums who are feeling like you today , just remember your twins will be ok you are allowed to rock a bit Grin , chat to other parents there maybe somebody worse than you that you can there there and have a chat too and enjoy your wine later give yourself a pat on the back for not crumbling and acting like your babies are being snatched from your busom ,

My DD went to same Nursery and it is fantastic... although she was 4 when she went... The boys are just 3. Lots of the mums at school today told me how grown up they look as well ( I have dumped buggy and we are all walking to school now ;)

Oh dear!

I remember when my little one started school. I was distraught at the gates...and another mum took pity on me and took me to her house for a coffee and a natter.

Do what you have to do today....pamper thyself, eat chocolate (whatever).
The kids will no doubt have a whale of a time....and you will (possibly) get to know some of the mums and make some new friends in the bargain!

Aww. They are still babies though really. They are still babies until the end of reception IMO. Preschool age is such a lovely age. It's so lovely when you go to pick them up and they are so delighted to see you they rush into your arms. That bit nearly makes me cry! Hope it goes well.

Absolutely reasonable, imo - and in my experience, the wobbles don't go away as they get older (though they do get smaller) - I had wobbles when the dses started senior school, and I fully intend to have a big one (probably all over mumsnet), when ds1 goes to university this autumn.

Good heavens, I bawled my eyes out yesterday after dropping off my two (one in yr 1, one in nursery)...and that was only after 2 weeks of Christmas holidays!! Though I needed to get back to work, and they were driving me bonkers in the house, I got quite used to their silly antics and frequent cuddles.

So, don't worry...it's apparently normal! Grin

I had a complete wobble dropping DS off today after the Christmas hols. I took ages unpacking his bag etc not wanting to leave him while he simply toddled off to fetch his breakfast without a backward glance and looked mightly irritated at me kissing his head as I left while he was busy concentrating on tucking into his weetabix! DS started nursery at 8/9 months, I think had I waited until he was 3 years I would not have been able to let go.

YANBU

I had a wobble when dropping off DS1 at nursery, and i manage the setting (although do not see him in the day), stood in the hall blubbing (my poor staff!), got to do it all again in June with DS2, then DS1 starts school in Sept (makes a note to get bumper supplies of tissues and wine for the summer!). Sad
