to hate driving at night

I passed my test 10 years ago.. And think i am a goodish driver during daylight, even in bad weather or motorway... But at night, I am awful, I just cant see properly, get blinded with the glares of other cars, get nervous on a roads with loads of bends and stress so much because i am holding the traffic as i am driving so slow... Just today a hour drive through the country from a family party turned into 1 and half hour of hell after the sat nav decided to send me through the tiniest lanes and just the biendiest country roads.. I could feel myself sweating and shaking... And felt even worse since i had my 2 little ones in the car.. And cant not drive as my partner has a condition which doesn't allow him to drive and live in a village...
Please tell me I am not the only one...

Blue eyes and I love night driving.

I have blue eyes and hate driving at night. However since I got driving glasses with reflectors built in it's been way better

I have weird eyes in which I have had many surgery to fix though.

I hate it too as I feel like I can't see anything and just don't feel safe. Or at least I used to. It's still not my favourite thing but I don't feel dangerous anymore.

Turns out my old car had ridiculously dim lights compared to most other cars and it just compounded the vision problem. So I'd second the person saying get better headlights, it makes all the difference. No more dreading leaving the section of motorway with streetlights!

P.S. I also have blue eyes and am longsighted (my optician said longsighted people can struggle with vision in low light).

If you wear glasses, the lenses that change colour with light can help (can't remember what they're called), they cut down the glare. You're not alone. Daytime driving we share. Night time (unless on very well lit roads) is down to me. DW has same problems as you do.

Even country lanes have a continuous white line painted along the edges for that purpose

Not where I live, and those that do are usually covered with so much mud and leaf litter that they can't be seen.

Green eyes and dislike driving at night...blossoms to hate on rainy nights! I can't stand the glistening black roads and have difficulty seeing the white line.
