To be secretly pleased my son got his comeuppance?

So I'm having my last lie in this morning before work starts tomorrow. My 4yr old comes in and starts chanting get up mummy. This is followed by being hit with his sword in time to him saying get up mummy.

I hope he is going to get bored so ignore. He then pulls the duvet off, followed by trying (and failing) to get my pillows. I'm still clinging onto the hope I can go back to sleep, when he picks up his wet PJ bottoms (after mis-aiming in the loo this morning) and wacks me in the face with them.

He then jumps on ny bed and hits his head on the light fitting... Haha is all I think WIBU?!

Errr you are the one now covered in piss Wink

Oneofthechildlessones · 03/01/2012 00:35

YANBU to be pleased.

However the child I nanny for is also 4 and knows full well he would be in big trouble if he behaved like that.

lisad123 · 03/01/2012 00:37

Your pleased your 4 year old hot hurt Confused

Now if you said he was 14 that would be a different story Grin

Colleger · 03/01/2012 00:38

Maybe he wanted you to change his wet clothes? He is 4 - you don't get a lie in at 4! YABU

CuriousMama · 03/01/2012 00:40

YABU teach him to behave himself.

seeker · 03/01/2012 00:41

How very icky.

grograg · 03/01/2012 00:41

I would have laughed too tbh! And so would my 4yr old niece. She doesn't cry at a bumped head, rather she laughs. I love that about her. So I would say no, YANBU. You have what is called a sense of humour. Now if he was concussed, different story!

AngelAtTheTopOfTheTree · 03/01/2012 00:47

Oh dear, is this a troll AnyFucker? I feel bad as I found it funny. =?

yanbu (from a single mummy of a similar sounding 6 yr old) - that type of behaviour goes on and on, day after day, is absolutely wearing. It is really not a question of teaching them to behave.

I would take the sword away permanently.

Have a good work day tomorrow. Adult time - fab!

CuriousMama · 03/01/2012 00:59

I was a single parent at one time too and no way would my dss behave like that. Lazy parenting.

I was suspicious too AF bit late to post the story tbh.

OffDownTheGardenToEatWorms · 03/01/2012 01:00

YABU to allow your child to behave like that

YABU to not deal with his wet clothes

YABU to think it's funny he hurt himself

I think that's about it..

tigerlillyd02 · 03/01/2012 02:44

Can't believe anyone would allow their child to wake them up in this manner. Shock Is this how he behaves all day long too? You just allow him to hit you with things and throw things at you?

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 03/01/2012 03:08

How high is your bed (or how low is your light fitting/how tall is your child)?

ComposHat · 03/01/2012 03:15

I agree...troll. Either that or she is the mother of a giant child. I wouldn't bang my head off the light fitting by jumping on the bed and I am 5ft 8

Although why anyone would make up a story where they get slapped in the chops with piss-soaked clothing?

Jellybellydancer · 03/01/2012 07:41

Ok not a troll, would hope that I could think of something better than that!

He had clean bottoms on but picked up the wet ones...

It was more of an ouch, then badly hurt. Otherwise I wouldn't have laughed

Low ceiling, high bed...

And you let your 'son' act like a complete brat why??
If either of my ds' acted like that they would both be in serious trouble

And Biscuit

JjandtheBean · 03/01/2012 07:59

Oh relax.

Tbh as the owner of an annoying 4yo, so long as he wasny hurt, I'd laugh. Sometimes kids do stupidly annoying stuff and sometimes we laugh at stuff we shouldn't.

QuietNinjaLamp · 03/01/2012 08:06

I'm a bit Hmm at veryconfused saying it's not a matter of teaching them to behave! WTF? why would you let your child behave this way?

Backtobedlam · 03/01/2012 08:37

Sorry but I laughed when I read this. Sometimes you have to just laugh at these things (otherwise you'd cry). Behaviour doesn't sound that bad for a 4yr old...just high spirits!
