on my break at work today, 5 or 6 other people in staff room, manager comes in with 2 bottles of bubbly and says they're for anyone who wants to have a wee cup with lunch, as a thank you for working hard this year.
I thought 'ah that's nice' but as soon as he left everyone started complaining about the fact that he'd only got 2 bottles. to be fair, there are around 50 employees (only around 15 working today though) but..AIBU to think IT'S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS?
I'm not particularly fond of my boss and no one else is overly either but I felt quite sad for him. He did something nice that he didn't have to do and that should be enough. Shouldn't it? It was more of a gesture than 'here, everyone get pissed on me'.
At least they didn't say it to his face!
