2 years ago for my birthday he bought me a new watch. It was very very bling, very large and very pink. I politely thanked him but told him as nicely as possible that it was so not me. I'm not a blingy person, it was too big for my skinny wrists and I'm not a big fan of pink. We returned it.

This year I did say that I would like a new watch.

So, DH buys me a very big, very blingy, pink strapped watch, from the same brand. And can't quite understand why i don't like it!!

I almost had a similar disaster this Christmas. I had given my bf a list of things i wanted/needed so he could decide what to get me, and one of those things was a watch (dog ate my last one). He knows i only wear mens watches, so that was fine, and luckily we were together getting some last minute pieces for under the tree, because he came back after looking in the window of a jewellers and took me back to see what i thought of what was on sale, and kept directing me to some hideously bright purple and orange ones. He was a bit taken aback when i told him i thought they were horrendous, and pointed out some others i much preferred instead.

Orange and purple fgs, i am about to turn 45 and have NEVER worn something like that, and if i did I would get one in Primark for about a quid!

Still at least i ended up with a lovely one (and a ring i had mentioned in passing i liked) :)

Well I'm a grown woman and I like/wear pink. And I have a blingy watch for that matter. But YANBU that watch is hideous

mylifeisstillchaotic - good for you for liking pink but I thought DH would know that it's not a colour I favour. I have none in my wardrobe at all so why would I like a watch with a pink strap??
I wish I could say that you or diddl could have it as you both like pink but I've just found out how much it was and so i am returning it asap!!
