they are always a bit smelly, dirty and make stupid noises.

they irritate me and whine when i kick them.

other people's children's parents are also irritating when they expect me to enjoy their smelly, dirty, stupid-noisy offspring.

AIBU to not like your children?

you definately won't like mine.

all full of d&v, one with a snotty nose, one teething, one has discovered growling and does it full volume all day long especially at mealtimes.

why do people get broody?! why do i have 3?!?

lollygag · 29/12/2011 11:52

Wow.This is the best thread i've been on all holiday.I thought it was just me.When I was a kid we were expected to be respectful and quiet at other peoples houses then some idiots from Teesside Polytechnic (or similar) said this was harming their development and it would be better for them to behave like complete little sh1ts.Those 'academics' have a lot to answer for.

I once wrote a thread about neighbours/friends child being a "horror". He is a horror the kind of manipulative little sh*t that needs a good clout!! Oh the backlash I got for calling him a horror haha

The little sht got the clout. During cubs they were cooking sausages and said horror decided to splash hot fat at my DS Shock. DS smacked him in the face Grin I know its wrong but I am so proud of DS for that day. Little sht hasn't tried to mess with him again. Smile

I get a bit confused over ugly or scruffy looking children whose parents think are beautiful. There is one child in my family who looks like jimmy hill, yet people in the family are always talking about how pretty she is, entering her for cheesy local newspaper competitions etc... So odd. Also my DN has really scruffy hair with a hint of a curl in it and mil is always going on about how beautiful it is. It's horrible, she needs a nice little suri cruise bob.

I am fussy though, I think most people are quite ugly.

CarolCervix · 29/12/2011 12:00

oh yes. the ones with thin flappy hair. ew.

Cervix, am I not right in thinking that if everyone took your advice and stopped having babies, you'd be out of a job? Is your redundancy package better than your pension? Wink Grin

CarolCervix · 29/12/2011 12:05

redundancy? pension?

Im another one who doesnt like other children. I dont like my own some of the time.

Ive always been this way though. I remember pre-baby my friends all being "arent babies cute" bleugh. Never saw the attraction personally.

Though I can talk to children and there have been times when random children (eg the bosses daughter when she brought her into work, my uncles girlfriends young children etc) seem to be besotted with me, but Id rather not have to and yes I can be a right miserable cow at time, but I dont care.

notveryinventive · 29/12/2011 12:09

worral I want that book Grin

Proudnscary · 29/12/2011 12:12

I don't like carols or cervixes so, ya know, horses for courses...

OrmIrian · 29/12/2011 12:14

I like kids generally. It's their parents I have the problem with occassionally.

I might even like yours OP.

CarolCervix · 29/12/2011 12:14

see - why would complete random strangers get all uppity with me for not liking their children'>? why should i like your children?

You don't need to like my children. I don't really care if you do or not. But I don't feel the same. Thankfully.

tinkertitonk · 29/12/2011 16:11

Excellent thread, real life at its best.

The solution is to send the little horrors to boarding school and forget about them. Think Dotheboys Hall.

FellatioNelson · 29/12/2011 16:15

YANBU to not like my children. I don't like them either, although they are marginally less annoying than everyone else's.

msbaublestwinkle · 29/12/2011 16:18

I quite like other people's children. They entertain mine and I don't have to discipline them. I would probably enjoy time sharing my own (apart from the newborn, who smells good and doesn't make irritating noises), I'll have them until lunchtime as it is all downhill from there.

mrsmaltesers · 29/12/2011 16:19

Graham norton says that children are like farts ... You only like your own.

I have yet to meet any other (children, not farts) that i am keen on but i like my own enormously (that's children and farts)

I don't like mine or anyone else's. And newborns are not cute they're funny looking.
