To think that school projects are the bane of a parents'/pupil's life?

I have suffered through a reconstruction of Bath, with hypocaust. Twice. DSs have built 2 rockets each. We have a lovely castle that DS1 built in year 7 that I hoped we could recycle for DS2, but his has to be of specific build, no more than 45x45x45. So, 2 weeks ago there I am with a scary saw, lopping 5cms off the edge of a cake board, shouting 'will 5cms really matter?'

Our every move over Xmas has been dictated by whether we can get another layer of papier mâché on. Was bitching about this to sister, who suggested a peasants's revolt. How much more can you learn about a volcano by cobbling together one made with a cone of cardboard, or maybe just writing something about one?

And every time someone goes in the kitchen I have to shout 'don't kick the motte' as the kick-space heater is the only thing that'll dry the bastard glue.

I think the 45x45x45 is so it will fit in the bin at the end of term.

What about the heart sink moment when your DC emerges from school with the model that the whole class worked on?
DD is clearly very persuasive. We have ended up with one twice.
