to think that I shouldn't be stopped going to the friffing loo in Starbucks just because I wasn't buying a drink?

FFS.

All the times I've been in there and not used the loo.

Should they start keeping a pizz record?

But starbucks do crapafrapachinos and other such coffee free delights

TalcAndTurnips · 29/12/2011 12:45

Jj - surrender monkey refers to the wartime activities of the French. There's a smidgeon of bitterness in some older folk...

The Reverend Billy has had a thing or too to say about Starbucks. I refuse to go to any "chain" coffee shops, ever. Not even to piss.

valiumredhead · 29/12/2011 13:19

I seem to remember a law stating that you can't refuse a member of public use of the toilet - I used to work in a restaurant and the owner told me. She was 3 sheets to the wind half the time though so she might have made it up! Grin

HairyNigel · 29/12/2011 13:23

I would much rather be unreasonable than piss/shit myself in public. I always go to their toilets without buying anything.
I am the reason the country is in such a state

BleurghUna · 29/12/2011 13:29

Use MacDonalds toilets instead?

tyler80 · 29/12/2011 13:31

In Berlin everywhere charges you to go to the toilet, even McDonalds

Cinderfella · 29/12/2011 13:31

I always use McDonalds. In fact when we went on holiday to turkey one year I only used Mcdonalds toilets as I could guarentee a toilet and not a hole in the floor Blush

nickelhadababyYesLord · 29/12/2011 13:33

actually, Chaos - i'm with you on this.
YANBU.
If you had never ever bought anything from Starbuck's and don't intend to, but just wanted to use their loo, then you would be unreasonable. But you have bought stuff from there, and will probably do again (although now reluctantly because they're being twunts), and not always used to the loo when doing so. Which means you are/were a valued customer, which means that they shouldn't stop you from usign the loo.

In fact, I would go so far as to say, that, as a shop owner myself, allowing non-customers to use the loo is more likely to make that person a customer than refusing them the chance.
If a person finds a hospitable shop assistant, they will think "what a lovely place, and friendly staff. I will go again there to make purchases."

I'm sure I heard somewhere that a pregnant woman has the right to pee in a policeman's hat, should she be caught unawares and in the event of there being no coffee shop in the vicinity.

NewGirlInTown · 29/12/2011 15:05

Are they still serving gingerbread latte even tho it isn't Christmas any more? Would love one and if I don't go to the loo OP can have my turn...
