MOTH and I do it jointly every year. I had awful MS when pg with DS 11 years ago and haven't cooked meat inside since. MOTH now does all meat ('cept spaghetti bolognese) outside on the BBQ. I think I'll never get over my aversion of raw meat either...

We had cheesy chips for little 2 and curry for me and my older two . All eaten of our knees as and when we wanted it no table but that was down to Argos not delivering it

I only cooked a proper dinner once on Xmas day and then I thought why so no more

I'm 38 and cooked it for the first time this year.

Got terribly excited but also a bit worried about timings so pored over cookbooks. Mary Berry insists you can make and freeze bread sauce and stuffing and parboil and semi roast potatoes, and veg - so I did. And she's right.

Blissful Xmas morning where all we had to do was put a turkey in the oven. Then a busy last half hour. So we could watch DS open his presents.

Will definitely do it again if I get the chance (first Xmas ever in our home).

I cook for DD and I every year, I love it, it's my favourite part of Christmas.
We were going to have goose this year but I bottled it at the last minute as my oven is mad and we had fillet steak.

I popped over to see my Dad yesterday, he lives alone and isn't well atm.
He was about to get a turkey out the oven, was doing all the trimmings made from scratch and he was trying a new gravy recipe with apple and sherry that he'd seen on TV.
He's 87.

I do all the baking stuff (christmas cake, mince pies, cookies, etc) prior to Christmas, and then the kitchen is DH's on Christmas Day. He cooks the roast dinner and I get to relax a bit.

This year, MIL was at our house and I think she found it odd to be able to relax with a glass of wine and wait for DH to cook the meal. Although she certainly proclaimed it was a brilliant way of doing things afterwards. Xmas Grin This is the first time she hasn't had to cook a huge meal on christmas in years.
