I'm 54. She's over for Xmas this year and bought bloody Pictionary with her (I hate Pictionary) and said 'OK let's play Pictionary'. And there we are, playing Pictionary. What's wrong with saying 'would you like...' or 'do you mind.....' It's my house and she's still being a controlling PITA. Flame me all you like but I don't think it's on to do this.
Merry Xmas everyone

Is this a joke?

Awwww sympathies OP though I do like a bit of Pictionary myself. What would you rather be doing other than playing Pictionary. How can you steer it that way?

EllenandBump · 24/12/2011 22:32

Poor you. X mas should be your time now that your a mum!! Hope christmas day is better than tonight for you!! xx

itsstartingtofeelalotlikexmas · 24/12/2011 22:32

Just say
'I can't be arsed, il be back in a bit'

Flisspaps · 24/12/2011 22:35

Say 'no'.

It's your home, if you want to watch shit TV or play on MN or just drink, then do, don't feel obliged to play shit games Wink

KurriKurri · 24/12/2011 23:15

I've never heard of someone vindictively suggesting Pictionary before - it's a new low in the annals of MIL crimes. Broken Britain indeed.

DingDongQuintessentialNight · 24/12/2011 23:18

Based purely on your op, you should just be grateful that she is not bringing scrabble.

DingDongQuintessentialNight · 24/12/2011 23:19

And being 54, you should be grateful that you have a mum to play games with.

I am changing my mums nappies. I bet you would not want to swap.

GooKingWenceslas · 24/12/2011 23:31

No one can be forced to play pictionary. Well, I don't think they can.

You say, 'no thanks mother, I was just going to have another gin. Maybe tomorrow'.

How hard can it be? Has she got one of those contraptions off a Clockwork Orange, holding your eyeballs open, injecting you with sodium pentathol, so you can't help but guess?

inatrance · 24/12/2011 23:36

Aw you big grump, Pictionary is fab!! Grin

RudolphthePinkNosedReindeer · 24/12/2011 23:41

OP, try the Stately Homes thread in Relationships, where I suspect you will find people who understand what you are getting at. :)

TopazMortmain · 24/12/2011 23:45

What fresh hell is this?

Pictionary?

The horror

hellhasnofury · 25/12/2011 07:28

I have never played Pictionary .

RedBlanket · 25/12/2011 07:32

Send her round my way, I'd love a spot of Pictionary. Our TV doesn't get turned off all day b

JaneBennet · 25/12/2011 08:16

Send her round here, I love a good game of Pictionary, and Scrabble, oh and Monopoly, charades... I draw the line at chess much to my DS's disgust.

I have pens, paper and silly hats.

bessie26 · 25/12/2011 23:26

peggy I am really shit at drawing, but still LOVE pictionary! I am also shit at geography, but I love the way I can draw a rubbish map, pointing to completely the wrong place, but mum still knows what country I meant!

I didn't say anything, but I am quite disappointed she didn't bring it with her today!
