Disclaimer - Another MIL thread and I am 30 weeks pg and knackered from sleeping on dd's floor for most of the last 2 weeks. DD is 20 months and has a vague understanding of Xmas. History with PILS due to post birth issues and MILs ability to ignore/undermine me. They are sweet people though who love their family.

Just got out presses PILS left last weekend to put under tree next to fireplace with dd's little santa sack. MIL has done an enormous huge sack about 4 times the size of the Santa one I've done.

Feel like I've lost in a competition I didn't know I was in. Seriously who does a santa sack for someone else's kids? Did she think dd wouldn't have one?? That she needed another one? A GIANT one? Pissed off. She had her turn, my go at Xmas with my kids now. Mine looks shite in comparison.

Call them tree presents and give them out 1+ a day until the end of the holiday. My dc love to have the tree presents because they still have presents to open later.

Yet again MIL has wrapped DS b/day presents with christmas wrap - this year I've said, "oh dp they are wrapped in christmas paper they must be christmas presents" . Hey, MIL can pick up the pieces when DS thinks MIL hasn't given him a birthday present this year ... it's not my fault his birthday is christmas day - we all seem to be able to put b/day presents in b/day wrap. Why should he miss out just because he was born on 25/12.

My MIL arrived at bedtime pushing a large ride-on tractor and told DSs that Santa had dropped it off at her house first. Angry

DS1 was confused/disappointed cos it wasn't on his list. Would it be do hard for her to just keep the feckin' thing at her house till we visited in the morning?

She has a heart of gold most of the time, but she does this EVERY YEAR.

I think I might experience this for the first time this year, as we left PIL this afternoon I'm sure I heard MIL say something about Santa leaving lots of presents at her house ready for when we visit on Boxing Day. oh well, at least I can leave all the tat at her house!
