To be utterly fucked off? Part missing from DDs main Christmas present.

Most of her other presents revolve around this main present (wooden toy shop). The other bits and bobs are all to go in the shop. Am going to have to go on a manic hunt for a replacement. Perfect Christmas Eve.

ELC will be getting an ear full from me in the morning.

If they don't have the same one maybe they'll have another similar one ask for a better replacement and a discount on it.

I wouldn't have thought to have checked and it would have been found out on Christmas day when child would have opened it. At least you have chance to get another one sorted in time, good luck :)

FWIW I've checked that DS' DSi switches on but haven't checked any of DD's presents. I can't believe people are having a go at you for not checking!!

DH bent the back axle when he was having a go round the kitchen on DD1s fimbles scooter when she was 4 Shock

Just a thought OP

Make sure you take the whole toy to the ELC shop and the invoice because they'll obviously need to replace the whole toy.

Check on the phone first though and tell them you bought it online...or ring the online company and ask them to do the ringing round for you.

Laughing at Agents DH!!

TBH the comment from Fabby and co wasn't needed. I already feel like a twat for not checking. And obviously I will be next time (in November!), but the fact that I didn't check does NOT make this my fault.

Hoping I can sort it out tomorrow. If not, it's hardly the end of the world. DD will just have lots of stuff to put in her shop- but will not have a shop to put it in! She is only just 2, so will hardly notice.

You won't have a problem changing it in store even though you bought it online, I did the same last week. See if it's in stock online, gives you a better idea if they'll have some in store. Then first thing ring their main number and they should help but BE NICE.

I have loads of kitchen stuff but no kitchen as it was out of stock for my two year old. She won't have a clue and I'll get her it for her birthday in February.

Oh Santa- how annoying. Did you buy it online or from the shop?
Looks like we will both missing out on a relaxing Christmas Eve.

So, my plan is to call main depo, and then ring round individual stores and see if they can replace it.

Get onto your local stores first thing and stores local to anyone coming to see you for Xmas. I'm sure they'll sort it, if they have one in stock.

Its faulty so exchange doesn't actually need receipt but your confirmation email is proof anyway.

Ps it isn't your fault its their job everybody in the whole world doesn't go around checking everybody else is doing their jobs correctly. Mistakes happen. I really hope you manage to exchange it tomorrow (please check all the parts before leaving the store Xmas Grin) and you have a good christmas Xx

ELC and Mothercare were very very helpful.

Even to the point of hunting through returned stock to find my part (not the reason it was returned in the first place!)

So big thanks to them, just going to pick the part up.

I wonder how Santa has got on with toys-r-us and the BMX?

dh was there at 8 this morning. Manager had a replacement ready saying they had noted our call last night.

Have treated my self to a Haagen-Daz Dulche de Leche milkshake (diet will commence in January!)

Going to get DP to put it up this afternoon as ELC are open til 6pm and have offered to replace any extra parts (hopefully will not be needed!)

My faith in retail has been restored!

I started to hate ELC, the last couple of years everything and i'm being literal i bought, had bolts, pieces missing. Rubbish.
