Rubbish date on turkeys in asda

I have just been to asda to do a basics shop,fruit,veg,tins etc when i noticed the fresh turkeys were a decent price so i thought i might get one,until i saw all of them were either use by 25th or 26th of december!!
Aibu to think they must have been sat there for ages and not buy one?

I have had a M&S free-range bronze for the last two years but it wasn't especially nice, even having been soaked in Nigella's brine.

Might just be my cooking, though.
