to think all bra straps go saggy.

It seems wherever I get my bras from the straps always seem to start going saggy, so I tighten them, then the back of the bra ends up too high.

If I loosen the straps I feel like the support is not as good.

Is it just me who has this issue?

If you are tightening them to the extent that the back rides up it sounds like you may have a fitting issue.

Pascha · 23/12/2011 10:03

The support should be mostly coming from the band, I think you might need a smaller back size, then you won't be relying so much on the straps.

CheshireDing · 23/12/2011 13:21

Oooh do you think? The woman in M&S measured me recently for my currently monster boobs (have a 10 week old baby).

Maybe I need to investigate the sizing further then...

There's your problem. M&S are notorious for bad measuring and fitting.

Kayano · 23/12/2011 13:23

I think you are wearing a bra the wrong size. Ie you are wearing a 36 e when you should be a 32 g or something.

The support mainly comes from the band, not the straps and the back of the bra shouldn't be able to be pulled up like that.

Go to bravissimo

My size example above is exactly what happened to me btw

FabbyChic · 23/12/2011 13:24

Never happens to me are you putting them on too hot a wash.

Pascha · 23/12/2011 13:28

I am a 30f/32e as remeasured this week at Debenhams. My back size is 29.5cm and bust size 36.5cm. M&S would have me at 34c I think. Also Fabby is right about too hot a wash, never does elastic much good.

Ephiny · 23/12/2011 13:34

This has happened to some of mine in the past, probably my fault for sticking them in a 40 degree wash with everything else, it's best to handwash bras if you can be bothered.

Agree too about the M&S sizing, maybe try going down a back size and up a cup size or two, see if it fits better.

I fifth the comments re: M&S fitting.

Are you anywhere near York? There is a fab little shop there called Leia's which fitted me to a T for free. They sell a lot of Freya and some other stuff which is fairly nice but not too pricy. Or Bravissimo.

A nicely fitting bra is to die for: the Freya ones I have make my top half look like Christina Hendricks's shame about everything else!

YonderRevoltingPeasantWhoIsHe · 23/12/2011 13:42

Oh yeah, and handwash bras in warm water.

CheshireDing · 23/12/2011 14:42

I do just chuck them in the wash with everything else Fabby, maybe I need to give them more respect Grin, not sure I can be bothered to go as far as hand washing though.

Okay will see where the nearest Bravissimo is.

Unfortunately I am not near York Yonder.
