...all I can think is what a fucking sad bunch of twats. Stupid, vacant and totally pointless people - and - OMG! These are real people! There are people like this in real life!

Arghhhh!

Aibu to think like this?! Surely not! Grin

i got accidentally pissed and watched amy childs on telly. it has increased my hangover by several degrees. i fear for my daughters with this sewage sloshing around them.

architien · 23/12/2011 07:47

I couldn't stand more than minute or two. Awful.

Thank God I'm in rural Scotland where the children run the risk of picking up the likes of "och aye"

sue52 · 23/12/2011 09:11

I once watched an episode to see what all the fuss was about. They were very odd looking people; all fake tans, false looking teeth, fake hair and for some reason they like wearing shoes that are too small for their feet. I hope the trend doesn't spread to my part of Kent.

Deep breath.

My name is Megatron and I love TOWIE.

I am a 45 year old, apparently respectable mother of two, not to mention a pillar, yes a PILLAR of the community.

But, I love TOWIE and all it's ridiculousness. I am also willing to overlook the fact that they have bastardised my favourite Christmas song because my love for them is so strong.

Mock me if you will, I care not.

Have a reem Christmas one and all. Xmas Grin

Ifancyashandy · 23/12/2011 09:59

I too feel the need to share my love for TOWIE. I'm well jell that I'm not one of them and am too lazy not skilled enough to put my face on to their level.

I hate all the other Johnny Come Latelys, such as your Chelseas, Scouse Wives and Geordies. But not the Essex crowd. A night out with that lot would be fun!

Moominsarescary · 23/12/2011 10:04

My son watches all the above

I find Geordie shore is the worst, I want to jump in to the tv and shake some of them

Megatron · 23/12/2011 10:05

Only started watching it well into 3rd series, but surprised myself by developing a bit of a soft spot for it. Hope Joey Essex gets the poisonous frog he asked Santa for for Christmas!

McPie · 23/12/2011 10:21

Caught a bit of Geordie Shore one night on a drunken channel hop, I think it was a best bits episode, oh my is all I can say. I will do my best to make sure my dd never ends up like that.
I always wonder if they did a Edinburgh or Glasgow version would they have to put subtitles up like they had to with Rab C Nesbit Xmas Grin

Divinyl · 23/12/2011 15:37

(Waves): Here in Chelmsford you can get canvas shopping bags with the TOWIE slogans printed on them. Possibly in Romford too. It took me about 6 weeks to find out what 'reem' meant. Shout if ya want one, anybody.

kerstina · 23/12/2011 16:18

I watch it occasionally and i did catch last nights xmas special. Does anyone know why Joeys sister was crying as I did not catch who she had lost 10 years ago was it her mom ?
I think they glossed over the fact she was upset and they had a real oppurtunity to make the people eg Joeys cousin less shallow as they did not allow the sister to be upset.
Its all very well having a nice fluffy show but nothing wrong with showing that xmas can be very hard for some people.

pantomimecow · 23/12/2011 17:59

what is 'reem'? Do tell!

mrsmaltesers · 23/12/2011 18:07

I love it ..... No plot and arge always makes me laugh. i live in romford, although i am not from essex although Have never seen white stilletoes in rom ... Will keep my eyes peeled. 100%, as they say.

LordOfTheFlies · 23/12/2011 18:42

Divinyl yes you can get those pesky bags in Romford - I'd rather carry my stuff in an old rinsed out doggy pooh bag.

MrsM at last -someone agrees Xmas Grin No white stilletos in Romford.
Plenty of Uggs/Fake Uggs/ monstrous platforms with heels in every colour bar white.

Malificence · 23/12/2011 18:43

Of course they're not real Hmm They're all probably wannabe drama students Wink

DD has met Mark Wright ( as observed on my profile pics) , she was quite enamoured, I think he looks a bit greasy .

LordOfTheFlies · 23/12/2011 18:44

Oh and Joey Essex, I'll buy the fecking frog for you, if you promise to lick it. (And yes, I'll make sure it's poisonous)

prettyfly1 · 23/12/2011 19:19

Honest to god I sat through ten minutes of one of them and I believe my post at the time said something along the lines of

"Jesus Christ, how can anyone bear to watch TOWIE. It's like regular installment of a sixteen year olds Btec Diploma play, only with less skill and i s more wooden then the average mahogany sideboard!!!

fluffy123 · 23/12/2011 19:21

I love it . I know it's trash T.V but find it totally relaxing and it really makes me laugh.

forehead · 23/12/2011 20:33

I am no tv snob,i watch all the crap reality tv. However, i cannot bear TOWIE. It's absolute shite.

Ifancyashandy · 23/12/2011 21:25

TOWIE rocks.

sillybillies · 23/12/2011 21:26

Can't bear TOWIE. 1st time I watched it I wanted to sob. Last time I felt the same was back in late 80's when spitting image did a song about essex.

Another Essex girl here obviously living far too close to Romford and Brentwood.
