Letter writing 101 - you put the card into the envelope with the picture peeping through the V iyswim and anything else is actually rude to the reciever. I have sat on this for years, but now I just feel that it's a barbed dig against me. She doesn't like me - I have a good life and I thinks she's a bit jealous of my house and car. Xmas Angry AIBU to have a word with her about the slight I have already ripped up the card in temper.

Everytime I go - I flip the paper back over so it's just right and the joins nestle together iyswim? I even nip to the loo even if I don't really need it. Shock

WTF are you on about?

Bloody hell who gives a flying about which way the card comes out of the envelope??

I hope she does it on purpose because you are a really sad arse that needs to get a life and worry about serious sh*t

EduStuckUpTheChimney · 23/12/2011 23:46

I like to put it in the other way, so you can't see the picture until the card is fully out of the envelope, thus keeping the surprise until the whole card can be viewed and not spoilt by getting a glimpse of a little bit the moment you open the envelope.

Oh God, I'm as bad as the OP

Backtofrontsaddened · 24/12/2011 00:04

And loo roll?

She's sending you a Christmas card that is effectively mooning you.

YANBU.

GrinGrin I can't decide who's funnier, the OP or posters who are responding to this seriously GrinGrin

TuftyFinch · 24/12/2011 00:16

I'm afraid you're all wrong.

Christmas card etiquette is thus:
If the first name on address is male, picture faces away from V.
If sending to a woman only, then picture should be at back of card, revealed by V.
Cards addressed to children face picture front but with opening of card at bottom. In previous 2 examples fold of card should be at the top.

Wait... Are you MY SIL? I know I've been hated for years but never had a clue why. If it turns out its just about the way I put cards in envelopes then I'm going to be seriously pissed off...

Fo0ffysFestiveShmooffery · 24/12/2011 00:38

Ha Grin

Unless this is a thread about a thread then Hmm

ScroobiousPip · 24/12/2011 09:09

Grin at TuftyFinch.

The loo roll thing is plain barking.

ledkr · 24/12/2011 12:13

I have just recieved a card and not only was the picture facing the non v bt but it was upside down and the stamp was wonky.
I am fucking livid!!

Nancy66 · 24/12/2011 12:28

Fucking evil bich.....

I bet she tucks the card rather than seals the flap with saliver too.

Smash her windows, let down her tryes and dump horse shit all over her front garden....

women like her must be STOPPED

Grrrrr.....

TalcAndTurnips · 24/12/2011 12:42

I expect BIL bell-ended the card before it went in the envelope too - don't for gawd's sake sniff it.

It's quite clear that you are a victim of a prolonged and particularly vicious hate campaign - I recommend you confronting her immediately about this aggressive behaviour.

When you speak to her on the telephone, she's almost certainly doing v-signs and gurning too. In fact, I bet she's talking about you right now, about that thing that you did last year.
