to think that picking holly with berries on is unfair to birds?

I know holly from the shops is expensive, but when people say they picked holly from the park I feel they might be stealing berries the birds could eat (and winter isn't easy for birds).
AIBU to dissaprove of berried holly?
(and can anyone enlighten me if it isn't unfair to the birds please)

Don't forget about the holly leaf miners. You'll be taking away their homes. Then the blue tits will be hungry. And the parasitic wasps will have nowhere to lay their eggs.

So actually, I'm saving the miners from the parasitic wasps, really.

& where do you think holly from the shops comes from OP, bird-free holly farms perchance?

Have to say I hate the comment 'if everyone did it there'd be none left' because everyone doesn't do it, nor will.

A few flowers, a little holly, a bit from each plant, leaving each plant healthy and still looking 'full' - birds, flora and fauna isn't affected.

Strip a plant bare, dig it up by its roots, take a berried branch from a holly bush that hasn't many - you're a twat.

Responsible gathering is in my opinion, lovely. I don't have many berries on my holly bush this year [sadface]

Brilliant. Sod the wars, the earthquakes, the starvation, the cruelty, the illnesses.

Can I sponsor a berry deprived bird please?
