I usually do all the present buying but this year I told DH that it was his responsibility to buy presents for his dad and brother. I know he has done absolutely nothing about it. I have bought for all 9 other members of his family. Judging by past history, DH is likely to dash out just before the supermarkets close on Christmas Eve and buy socks/shaving foam/malteasers for BIL and FIL. WIBU to just let this happen?

His family, his reponsibility surely. I wouldn't (and don't) ask or even think about it Confused.

Nothing wrong with socks or a jumper or sweets as a present anyway, in my opinion anyway!

My husband sorts out all his side of the family and I sort out mine for birthdays and xmas. Some women enjoy present buying for all and are unwilling to delegate this duty. I'm not one of these women. We usually discuss how much each of us spends on our family and give presents of approx equal value to his dad v my dad etc. He usually buys tokens but if his rellies ask for something specific he's quite capable of shopping online or in town himself.

I've done all my shopping - yee ha.

I too am sitting back and waiting for DP's panic rush around re buying gifts for his family (though this year I've done most of the work getting lovely photos done of the DC's and he just has to buy some frames, and a couple of other bits. I've had the prints for over a month - still no frames have been brought or even researched).

It's hard not to step in but I'm sitting on my hands and breathing deeply.
