to expect ds(3) to poke his willy down when asked?

We were in a public toilet and I was holding him over the disgusting loo and didn't have a free hand. I asked him to point his willy down as I could see it was sticking up pointing straight at me and he just wouldn't! I was asking and asking and he started saying no and I knew the wee was imminent so then I was raising my voice "POINT YOUR WILLY DOWN!" . . . "NOOOOOOOOOO!" . . . "POINT IT DOWN! DOOOOOO IT!" . . . "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" . . .

then he wee'd!

I was very lucky in the respect that he didn't put much power behind it so it didn't come anywhere near hitting me in the face but I did panic there for a minute! Instead it went over his own thigh and down his leg a bit.

Now why the bloody hell wouldn't he point it down?! I've asked and asked but he has no answer for me.

Am I expecting too much of a 3yo to just do somthing simple like that when I've asked them to do?

Why was the toilet seat covered in shit? (if it was wet from urine, wipe it down and let him sit surely). So YABU 'cos I'm sure he figured out you were just being silly so did it to teach you a lesson.

This has made me laugh! Maybe next time you could cover the toilet seat with toilet roll if you really dont want him sitting on it. I've done this before when unable to hold and point in really grim toilets.

GlueSticksEverywhere · 20/12/2011 09:40

It's not the sitting I mind it's the touching, although the toilet roll ring would be helpful for that too!
