According to my mother i am.

DD is with her dad this week, back friday. The house is a little dirty, as in the bathroom hasnt been cleaned for a week, i need to wash the floors and dust. Hoovering has still happened as has washing up etc.

Mother popped over yesterday and had a bit of a go and said i needed to sort it out as it was ' discusting' its not.( Bu then she cleans her bathroom twice a week... she also works less hours than me and has a husband and no child to look after.)

i explained to her that there was no point in me doing in then, as it would only need doing again before xmas and, seeing as it was only me at home now.. then it wont harm me to shower in a bathroom that hasnt been cleaned for a week ( which only 1 adult and 1 five year old use) and that ill time it to be done this week sometime, so i wont need to do it again before xmas eve..

House will be sparkly before dd comes back and then i plan to just enjoy xmas eve with her ( rather than cleaning).

My mother thinks im being ridiclous.

I have to hoover at LEAST twice a day in the living room. I have a very small living room, and 4 dc. I am not a clean freak either - I hate housework, but with 4 dc dropping crumbs, it NEEDS it, especially with 10mo DS3 crawling around. It probably won't get done more than once a day when he is bigger, and not trying to pick bits up and eat them.

I clean my loos every other day MINIMUM - sometimes more. But again - 4 people using them currently, plus any friends they have round. Often I have to do the loos every day. But the actual wiping down of the rest of the bathroom - weekly. And mine get more use than yours. A LOT more use.

So no, OP - YANBU. I'd do the bloody same if all my dc weren't in the house, I'd just clean up before they got back.

OP - I have to hoover two/three times a day myself. But then I don't work at the moment. I wish I did have someone else to do it for me...where are those housework fairies when you need them?? Xmas Grin

Give it a good going over before Christmas. You won't die from a dirty bath

if i wasnt working i would probably too, in fact, when i wasnt working a few years ago ( and pre dd) i did.
but im working, and out of the house most of the day. The house isnt getting dirty with noone in it, is it.

Tomorrow i am baking mince pies, lots and lots of mince pies ( dont work tuesdays). in a house that currently has a dirty bath. its a shocker isnt it! :)

actually - on the subject of the bath being dirty, is it actually dirty, its only used for showers.. mine daily and dd every other day. Thats it. The sink is used, obviously, but swilled around with water after each use. The taps are looking a bit dull that is all. The loo has a blue block in the back and one of those hanging anti germ things on. after a week and 1 day( because i did it last sun) is it really ' dirty'
