right ok,im from another country, and in work the other day ia asked the girls what they were getting there children for christmas from santa? they all said one maybe two toys.....i asked is that all?(i mean, they werent much)
they said, well, friends and relatives get them stuff from santa....
i asked, what do you mean??they said all the gifts others get are put away from there childs sight untill xmas morning, and the child thinks santa brought them all!!!!!!
i asked them, dont they get to "thank" your friends and relatives for the gifts they purchased? they said well yes coz it says on the tag that they asked santa to get it for them!!!
im finding this realllllllly odd!
were i come from in ireland, santa was seperate from everyone elses gifts,
and thats the way i continue to do it,
is this the way it is done in the uk and other areas?

FC brings the stocking presents (which are nice, just not expensive - stuff like happyland figures, cheap DVDs etc) and one main present. He also gives a couple of things for DH and I to share (we've been good all year too! Xmas Grin)

Everything else is from mummy and daddy, nanny and grandad etc. My DSCs put a lot of effort into choosing little things for their siblings, there is no way I'd take that away from them!

Fc did the little presents in the stocking, big presents were from people.

When I was little, all presents came off Santa. There was never any "Auntie" bought you this, we bought you that. Everything was off Santa.

Off at a complete tangent, did I tell you all about the year my little brother (aged 3) went missing one Christmas. Searched everywhere for him, mum even called the village policeman who came round. Brother reappeard, completely filthy. He'd climbed up the living room chimney to look/wait for Santa. Xmas Grin

How does the day get organised if everything is from Santa?

The thing I like about the small presents in the stocking from Santa is it means these can be opened on waking which provides a bit of peace first thing and the main present opening can be done later.

We always opened stockings before breakfast, then the main presents afterwards
