FIVE YEARS I have been cooking meals for this man. Five years. In that time he has made lamb stew, once, spaghetti bolognaise, three times, and started to make a shepherd's pie which I then finished because he got bored.

Today I really can't be bothered to cook and I think he should do it instead. DH thinks I'm BU. Am I?

My DP made our tea tonight - beef olives, yorkies, roast potatoes and brussel sprouts - delicious! I did a pavlova - which DD1 gave 9/10 [proud smug Mum emoticon] It looks like shit though

"Life is about give and take; we all have to do things we hate."

Which includes him cooking at home.

OP YANBU You could always go out one day, sans kids/dog, when he has a day off. If he complains tell him you can't be bothered looking after the kids/walking the dog, that day, as you do it all week Xmas Wink

YANBU of course he can and should cook sometimes.

Without knowing who does what and how much generally it's hard to know!

Around here we all sort of muck in so it all gets done in the end.

BTW troisgarcons most of the people I know iron sitting down. A radical idea I know and it horrifies my mum but there you have it.

What is "heavy DIY" btw?

Carpentry / drilling holes in masonry? Not sure what that means.

DH doesn't even know how an internal combustion engine works so you won't catch him doing anything to the car.
