AIBU to get upset that DH seems to have no interest in shopping for baby?

I don't know whether I should put this down to my hormones or ??? We're expecting our first child in 3 months time. I have tried and tried to get DH to go looking at pram, cot etc and he just doesnt seem to be interested. Tried to explain over and over again that yes we can look online for everything but need to get to the shops to actually see what the products are actually like physically.

Instead he just seems more preoccupied with taking SIL's for their weekly grocery shopping. Should I just get on with it myself?

Feel very alone :(

My Dh was and is just the same - just not interested is mooching around shops and discussing the various merits of buggies etc. But he's the most brilliant Dad now they're here.

Can you go with your Mum or a friend who has kids already?

I think a lot of men find it hard to relate to the baby until it's here. It's easy for us - we have a bump to remind us constantly and hormones whizzing around, whereas for many Dad's it doesn't really become real until they're here.

Neither DH or I could muster up much enthusiasm for baby shopping. And when DS was born and it transpired we hadn't bought many necessities, I can't tell you how quickly that man was in Mothercare asking questions about what was best for his boy. He is an amazing dad.

And the stuff about helping out his sisters with their shopping just makes him sound like a nice man. Maybe he thinks that in a while, he won't have so much time to spend with his sisters - because of the baby being born - so he is doing it now?

I don't think you are being unreasonable to want input with picking things like a buggy, car seat etc (wait for the sales though) but I can't believe anyone would want to go window shopping for anything at this time of year.

So maybe you could compromise on picking out those together in the sales and you could order other things online or take a friend if you want to do more browsing?
