What if you are reading something with a very embarassing title (not that I do) and then accidently press like and your husband and the rest of the world (AKA friends and family on FB) can see exactly what you spend your online life reading about (ie not recipes).
Too scared so I am over and out!!

One thing to note is that if you're reading a thread with the facebook button enabled, and have any facebook cookie at all, then facebook will know and be able to collect the information on what you're reading. That won't necessarily be shared - but it could be being used for advert targetting (ie read lots on mumsnet about divorces, see divorce adverts alongside your FB) or for other things.

It can be entirely disabled, but it requires some jiggery pokery - or if you're using IE, make sure your "InPrivate Filtering" is enabled and blocks facebook (it will still work when on facebooks own site) and in any browser "third party cookies" are blocked.

I do think it was a mistake by mumsnet.
