do you think it is wrong for nativity casting to be blatantly partisan? Or should all children have an equal chance?

I was at my kids' christingle yesterday (sorry, second thread on the bloody thing Blush)

I noted that Mary was the daughter of the local Baptist minister who is very chummy with the Head, comes into school twice a week and is a leading light on the governing body

Is this wrong? Or is it perfectly OK? I don't even have a girl and I'm an atheist, so not personal axe to grind, but I did notice last year that the principals in the school nativity were equally well-connected. Is it unfair on the other kids, or does it just not matter?

unless you know the criteria for how the parts are selected I think YABU. I am a recpetion teacher who gave the part of the main narrator to the only girl in the class who can read her lines independently as this meant I was free to support the other children. The fact that she is also the chair of governor's daughter is purely coincidental.

Ha ha nativity pig always cracks me up. I remember years ago my friend's dd being the nativity pig and her writing to me saying 'the only bloody pig in Jerusalem'. I'v had nativity foxes, donkeys and dogs in the last 12 years Grin

I remeber being told DS1 would be a stable animal. As Opposed to an unstable one running amok with a chainsaw I suppose.
