mebythesea · 10/12/2011 21:23

My neighbours 19 yr old son has this in huge letters covering the whole back window of his car
' Four Doors For More Whores'

I cannot imagine why he /. Anyone thinks that it is
A. Cool
B. Attractive or appealing in any way
C. Funny?
D. Or why his parents allow it to grace their driveway.

Or am? I being over sensitive?

learningtofly · 10/12/2011 21:58

It would be hilarious if his car only had 2 doors ..........

emsyj · 10/12/2011 22:01

I think it's quite funny - is he a character in The Inbetweeners, by any chance?

Knee deep in clunge...

SinicalSal · 10/12/2011 22:02

I wouldn't think so Worra. At that age (or any age, I suppose) people want to be attractive to the opposite sex. For lads that increasingly means acting the big man who picks up and drops women, and for girls it means being happy with this treatment.
I remember being that age myself and knowing what was expected of me.

Yes people grow up and cop on but shit happens in the meantime.

Mebythesea - it's horribly ordinary, as far as I can see.

Bossybritches22 · 10/12/2011 22:04

Mmnnnn while I agree with those who said he is 19 & puerile, I'm afraid I'd be Angry if that was my son or a daughter that was his friend & expected to get in that car.

It's just another example of the normalisation of attitudes that are clearly unacceptable. Because it's seen as a joke & therefore gains eye-rolling acceptance, and if we are uncomfortable with it we are seen as uptight or prudish.

OP- YANBU

SinicalSal · 10/12/2011 22:04

Custardo you surprise me.
it sounds as though you don't like the feminists - did a few disagree with you?

mebythesea · 10/12/2011 22:06

Now that you come to mention it peoplesprincess...
His bedreoom walls are pastered in delightful pictures of enhanced young women, or should that be whores.
I know this cos he leaves the light on and curtains open for all to see. i know thats what most teenage boys are into but my ds's wont be allowd to do that, the mags will still have to go under the bed where the other members of the house wont have to look at them... But thats man many years off

emsyj · 10/12/2011 22:11

In seriousness, I do think it is not on for this sort of attitude to be normalised and if it was my son I would be telling him so.

But as an outsider, I would laugh at the boy for thinking that this sticker would impress anyone.

mebythesea · 10/12/2011 22:13

I guess thats what i feel bossybritches, it just another example of a 'joke' which is actually really offensive and shouldnt be used to dumb down such attitudes.
And i know if i said anything to his mum she would just laugh it off and i would come accross as a wierdo lefty...

OP posts:
troisgarcons · 10/12/2011 22:17

I do try not to get professionally offended at much - but the Princess on board - does piss me off - is it the dog? the cat? or Princess Eugenie on a slumming down day trip?

redpanda13 · 10/12/2011 22:17

No I am sure I would not have found that cool when I was a teenager. Just asked my 18 year old sister and her 17 year old friend and they think it is an awful sticker.
That guy aint getting no action!

hmc · 10/12/2011 22:21

My DS would get a major flea in his ear if he dared do this - he's only 7 though so hopefully this kind of scenario won't arise in the short term

wildfig · 10/12/2011 22:26

But but but surely one of the doors is the driver's door? Is he a whore? Will he be driving with a whore on his knee? Is that safe, or even legal?

mebythesea · 10/12/2011 22:28

Agree the 'princess on board' one is anoying. On to other offensive car stickers i was recently driving up the M5 and a car went past with a ' keep britain white' sticker on the side. Was really shocked that anyone would emblazen this on their car. They must come in for lots of stick, causing agro wherever they go. Grim.

OP posts:
mebythesea · 10/12/2011 22:37

Teehee wildfig! Maybe he is, maybe he is advertising himself?! Maybe it should be 5 whores? Him and his 'crew' are like the inbetweeners, there is lots of sniggering, few females, and obviously lots of boasting about clunge....

OP posts:
Ripeberry · 10/12/2011 22:39

You should add next to it "No sh*t I've got no dick!"

NorkyPiesWithJingleBellsOn · 10/12/2011 22:45

Maybe he thinks it's funny and cool to shock (like Jeremy Irksome).

Casmama · 10/12/2011 22:47

I think he is doing everyone a favour by making it clear what a complete twat he is from a distance.
I'm sure he will grow up at some point and hope that he doesn;t meet many girls with low self esteem in the mean time who accept an attitude like that.

Bossybritches22 · 10/12/2011 23:29

It's not just a feminist viewpoint I'm making here either, it's as a parent & (I hope) fairly balanced adult.

Stickers/t-shirts/ internet posts all have their fair share of horrible degrading comments that are shrugged off as "just a bit of fun"
& I find myself frothing more & more (even though I try not to!) as it really bothers me that objections to anything are seen as loony/feminist/overstrict parenting views.

I'll take my soapbox & toddle off......Grin

SherbetDibDab · 10/12/2011 23:47

Agree Bossybritches22

mebythesea · 05/07/2012 20:47

UPDATE...
His latest delightful car stickers are :
'be a flirt, lift your skirt'

And ...

'Beep if you like it up the batty'

Ahh bless, What a nice young man!

egdeh · 05/07/2012 21:13

Frequently parked near my house is a land rover with the delightful "My other toy has tits" in its back window.
5yo dd asked what it meant so I told her it meant the owner is an idiot.
