To want to buy somebody's christmas present in the new year

so that I can buy myself some clothes?

My mum needs something that will cost £50. She hasn't asked specifically for it for Christmas, but I was planning on getting it her for Christmas. However, I know for a fact the prices will come down after Christmas. She is getting a few other bits for Chrsitmas.

I am desperate for winter clothes. I have 2 jumpers, 1 long sleeve top, no gloves, no hat, no winter coat.

AIBU to wait until after christmas to buy this thing she wants, in order that I can use that money on clothes for myself?

Will you see your mum over christmas? If so you need to talk to her about it really!

If you wont see her then go for it she wont know!

Why don't you wrap up a note telling her that's what she'll be getting and she can open that with the few other bits you're getting? I'm sure she'll understand.

If you're waiting for the sales, there's a good chance the item will be reduced before the day itself. Lots of shops have offers on this year.
