to want my new bathroom installed properly?

No, of course I'm not. Could really do with some helpful suggestions on exactly how to bring this up, though!

So there are three people involved in fitting our new bathroom: Boss, Tiler and Plumber. AFAIK Tiler works for Boss, and Plumber is a freelance who Boss gets in for all his installation work. Now Boss is a bit of a joker, delivers stuff at pretty random times, doesn't check toilets before he sends them out so they leave his showroom missing various components.. Frankly I wouldn't want him installing the bathroom himself, but luckily he isn't, and only T and P have to deal with him and get the stuff out of him. Which they are.

Tiler has made a lovely job of everything he's done, replastered and tiled the walls, done the floor tiles, everything very neat. Plumber has also done the plumbing absolutely fine, and has been a very friendly person to have around. Except that today he was here without Tiler, and in order to install the basin he also had to install the cabinet thing that goes below the basin, and carpentering is really not a skill of his. We didn't notice until after he'd gone that he's really made a mess of the back of it, some of the white veneer's cracked off the shelf inside, and there's a scratch on the shiny white front. Not sure who's turning up first tomorrow, him or Tiler (would kind of prefer to show it to T and see what he has to say) but just trying to psych myself up to say something. Because I really have to. Anyone got a Method for this kind of awkward conversation?

I would point out to him, what you've pointed out to us and ask him to fix it.

He'll know he's fucked up and he shouldn't make an issue of putting it right.

You are paying for the work, and the goods. You have a right to expect them to be installed without any damage.
