The advert was for Aquila magazine. It describes it as being for 'bright children of 8-12'
For one thing, I thought 'bright child' was what teachers said as a sop before they told you all the things your DC were failing to keep up with in class ("of course, she's very bright, but . . .")
For seconds, what on earth parent thinks they have a dim child
And for thirds, given the difference between an 8 y/o and a 12 y/o, presumably a dense 12 y/o would be reading / comprehending ahead of this mythical bright 8 y/o anyway
