So, just cracked open the first tub of Christmas chocolates of the season, as we're putting up the tree today and what to I discover?

That Mars, the ignorant bastards, have seen fit to stop putting Galaxy Truffles into Celebrations. I know. And what do you think they have seen fit to replace them with?

Fucking Twix. This is an affront frankly. How can they even think the two are comparable?

What next? Malteasers evicted to make room for Topics?

AIBU? Well, am I?

How can Mars say they are celebrating the "return" of the Twix when it was never there in the first place?

Although YABU to buy Celebrations as they are horrid. Minature Heroes or Roses all the way in this house....

What?!!

Did they not conduct any market research at all? Everyone knows that the Galaxy Truffle is one of the most popular Celebrations, with the Malteser. They could have easily got rid of the Milky Way one instead and no on would have even noticed.

I was having a dig around in the box at work and thought someone had been there before me and nicked all the truffles. I had to make do with a malteaser.

I did try one of the mini twixs and it was wrong somehow - not as nice as the big ones.

The bounty bars are always left! Why didn't they replace them and keep the truffles?

From looking at the pictures on Wikipedia, it would seem to be to bring us in line with Europe.

Chocolate is chocolate, stop being so picky.
Now imho what would be a travesty is if you have opened said chocolates and are being forced to share them....now that is just fucking wrong. I hope that you have a big tin all to yourself?

We got a tin to eat while watching Merlin (Tradition in our house Merlin=Box of sweets)

TBH I didn't even realise there were Galaxy Truffles. I've never bought a large one and the mini ones probably got put in the sweet jar until they fossilised and had to put the jar in the dishwasher.

DS hands me the Snickers and Bounty ie the ones he doesn't like.

They've done it on purpose to create outrage and then they can bring it back "by popular demand" and get a lot of free advertising in the process because people are talking about it.

They do it to revive the brand - like when Coco Pops had a name change and people protested.

FFS - I bought a tin on Friday purely for the truffles and malteasers. I am beyond peed off at this. How dare they do this to us!!

Not fussy me - I eat them all Blush and the calories/carbs/sugar/whatever don't count cos they're mini ones! Grin

I really hate truffles, they make me feel sick just the thought of them. Therefore, I'm very happy with their decision. :)

We threw out all the galaxy truffles last year as no one likes them.

Now that it's twix I will be buying a box.

But definitely no roses or quality street - they are nasty soya chocolates. I'm buying Chococo chocolates from Dorset this year and some nice Rococo thins from Rococo.
